    NERALY WENT BACK DRINKING

I've been very fortunate Mario as I've never really had my sobriety tested with any real emotional devastation. I've fallen on hard times emotionally, but never have I had a life situation (maybe the death of a child or loved one for example) that's really left me feeling quite devastated. I think the groundwork and continuing work we do on ourselves in sobriety is key to handling these situations. Keep safe my friend and I hope whatever your situation is you're working through it rather than jumping over it.

    Many Blessings
    Phil

Mario, so many first come here with the hope of 'drinking normally'. For some it works. For many, by the time they get here, that last bridge is crossed.
I have no problems with those who want to be AF, and those who successfully mod. It's all a personal journey. But YOU know YOU. And from your post, you weren't planning to mod, just jump in again feet first.
You have become a great inspiration here, to so many. And your honest, heartfelt, post, will help people you'll never know about. You've shown everyone that we always have to think ahead of our actions, and what we know we can do. You didn't do this for others here, you did it for you, and that's the most important reason. After terrible binges, problems caused by drunkeness, we can look back and say, 'why didn't I THINK!'. But you thought ahead, and I was especially touched that you discussed this with your mate. What a wonderful step you've made from who you were, to who you are now, able to really understand what your actions mean to your life. You had gotten to a point most people aren't able to stop at, but you DID, and thought it through, and that is what I find remarkable. I hope things have gotten better for you on the personal front, because you are a wonderful person, and a big asset to MWO.

              Good for you Mario.
I'm sorry that things aren't going so well for you at the moment, but all things change eventually.
You're showed an example of the strength of character and will, and those are among the best tools any of us can possess. Also, being able to talk things through with someone you love and who loves you is always going to help put your mind on the right track.
              Well done.
              I'm proud to know you.

                Mario,

Good to hear you worked through the temptation. Knowing we have the support from our partner, family, and/or friends is gold. I know where you are coming from, as i have formulated little 'back to drinking plans' myself, at times, and what they would look like, and how i'd do it, then thinking i'd get back to life again. It is a lie for me, and i know exactly where drinking will lead me again, because some part of me loves the numbness, and self destruction aspect that that will bring.

I hope you will draw even more strength, gratitude and resolve from this experience.

Best wishes friend, and take care.

                    Mario:
Thank you for sharing your story. As someone new starting a life AF, it showed me how powerful alcohol really is, even for someone who has been AF for over two years. You are an inspiration to so many of us and I'm so glad you didin't give in!

                        Mario,

I am so very sorry to hear that life has been dealing you a rotten time at the mo. I hope that everything will right its self real soon. As a newbie, you have been such a tower of inspiration. To be reminded that even so far into our sobriety the wobbles can strike, really puts this journey into perspective.

As I am facing my own wobble right now, I cant even begin to thank you for your strength and courage in posting, as it has helped me immensely not to go on a 'black it out binge'

Thank you, and sending you :l

Mario, my heart sank when I first saw your post, but what an inspiration you continue to be. Everyone has said it all so eloquently but I just wanted to add my 'pat on the back' which you so rightly deserve. I had a wobble a couple of weeks ago myself and have struggled hugely getting myself back on track, however my resolve is much, much stronger now because I really appreciate how much I have to lose. I am so pleased for you and thank you for sharing with everyone :l
