Yep Mr G... animal wefare is on the agenda...mind it's never been off the agenda...but one can't sit on one's hands forever.
But it seems like such a lost cause with so much animal cruelty throughout the world.

Morning Rooters, back to read more.
Makes it difficult to track down plants as most nurseries only stock the usual thyme marjoram etc.

Mr B is obviously a thoroughly decent man. Unfortunately they are the ones who get taken advantage of sometimes.
Sobbage happens frequently in recovery I find
Now as to the master plan, this was being discussed at length in the Jones house last night, well past bedtime as it happens.
I've organised to volunteer at the RSPCA, and a group for the Million Paws Walk next month state wide in NSW. I've also looked into fostering animals for them. But I can't help but think that there's more I can do, like on a larger scale.
All suggestions welcome.

I couldn't post about it this morning because I was too upset. I glanced at the headlines of the daily paper and read another horrible, disgusting act of animal cruelty had taken place. Couldn't bring myself to read the story - the headline explained it all. I hope the rest of you have been spared. That sort of shit just does my head in.
Other random thoughts: Don'tcha reckon Herbie Hemphill is a great name for a purveyor of spices and such?
OK Happy - I'm going to have to see Mrs.Google about ayurwhatsit medicine ...
MrG - not a drop of rain up here but I've been listening to 774 all morning and apparently you lot are really copping it. Even the trains are having trouble coping in the wet. Fancy that ... I thought it was just the heat or the cold they couldn't cope with.
Feeling virtuous because I made Quince and Crab apple Jelly this morning. Beautiful ruby colour, nicely set and soooooo clear you can read the paper through the jars. That, as you no doubt all know, is a prerequisite if you want to win the Royal Melbourne Show - Jelly Making Category.
I wish it would rain so that I could, without guilt, resume learning more of Grog's Animated Knots.

Hi Undies, hope you don't mind me posting. I donate money every year to animal causes. And as cowardly as it may seem I read nothing with distressed pets articles or headlines. That doesn't mean I don't care, it means I can only do so much and when the rescue shelters both here in TX and in WA post their needs, I fulfill.
There is only so much misery my head and heart can absorb and giving what I can helps that. All of my dogs have been rescue dogs, my daughter started rescuing greyhounds at an early age. My husband has been a foster dad to 2 litter of kittens in the past 6 months and we've managed to get 2 cats fixed.
There will always been an insatiable humane need to aid animals because their greatest predator is the human being. Don't get me started on circuses, etc. Just do what you can.Enlightened by MWO

Hiya Hiliary :welcome:
Glad you decided to drop by.
WIRES is one I've looked into Raggsy yep.
I think what I really want is a chunk of land,( probably in those gorgeous Dandenong ranges, so I can nip into Melbourne for some culture), and set up an animal refuge. That would be the ulitimate anyway, so I better pick up some more work !!!!If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Thanks Tawny, Peggy is doing well but I have spoiled her.
We had a thunderstorm last night and Peggy senses it 15 minutes before it shows up and starts shaking. So not much sleep for either one of us, but she caught up today and I didn't but I'll have a good sleep tonight. I am wondering if Texas gets any rain at all without thunder and lightening!! Saw the news this a.m. and we did have tornadoes just to the east of us, there is so much to be thankful for.
Or, as Vivian says "what happened Nana". When she was over yesterday with her mom, she started on the what happened and I rolled over on the floor laughing and exhausted daughter said "Look,. you are making Nana laugh which made me laugh even harder", so ever time she asked why I would say Duck, Duck, Goose! Daughter needs serious chill pills and I gave her a massage 3 weeks ago!! However, daughter drives downtown everyday and is very stressed - hold on, chuckle, chuckle,!!Enlightened by MWO
