I wondered that too - I could use one of those!!!

Anyway, just wanted to tell you about the new Indian restuarant we went to last night. Firstly, husband asked if they were licensed. Yes, they said. Hubby orders a beer to which they respond that they don't serve alcohol. Then we ordered the food. Hubby asked for a couple of things and the waitress told us they don't serve those dishes. (Why were they on the menu then?) Finally we ordered something that was on the menu and waited.....and waited.....and waited. The place was empty except for us and there were lots of sounds coming from the kitchen. (We now think it was a recording of kitchen noise.) 45 mins after ordering, we asked why things were taking so long. It was then the waitress told us that it was the chef's night off. So we left.....hungry.
CW - that's hilarious!!! Talk about Fawlty Towers!!!

HP sauce - sounds like being pissed and serving tables is the least of his worries then!

The last (and only) time I had Taco Bell was in Leicester Square in 1989 the night before I flew to Cairo. I was leaving London after 2 years there and only had it because I never had before and thought that I should try anything once. Having the shits when you have to get from North London to Heathrow and then onto a long-haul flight is not an experience that I ever want to repeat.

"April Sun in Cuba" is on my gym play list. Still one of my faves after all these years -- wo, ho ho!

OK OK ... the smart meter needs a bit of fine-tuning ...

Ok just realised it was This Time in my brain - but so love April sun in cuba - driving me nuts all day....Marc Hunter's voice sounded so young.

Does a smart meter mean a cleverer froglet?

Locusts boss left work - still drinking - refused service at another restaurant I do work for, went on to another hotel - picked a fight - and surprise will be lucky to hold his licence...
On a plus locust has been offered work elsewhere if he chooses to continue. Like Reg says its a rife old industry.

Its bizarre how putting a problem out there settles your mind, so again thanks big time underoos! It was a challenge to be sure if I was overreacting given that I have not been an angel myself in the drinking stakes and pious to say I'd never do..."blah blah". Just another reason to be happy not to.

Oh G - you are such an optimist and a joy-germ that its a bit of a worry when you've had a rough day.

Many big hugs to you my friend and you know where we are.

                    G,

Please talk about it with us.

You help me, personally, so much. You help so many here.

We want to help. We want to give back.

You taught me that. You taught us that.

                    Let us.

                    Love,

Beautiful clear crisp cool weather. The light is astonishing, the leaves are just starting to turn, makes a girl just want to skip around kicking leaves.

Another block of work begins tomorrow, so a fastidious clean and organise was attended. And now the feet are a tapping for some gardening in the afternoon sun.

A little sneak peek on the scales reveals a 6 kilo weight loss :welcome:

                      Can ya tell ?
                      Ooooh Bridge,
Was that YOU walking down the street yesterday in a size smaller dress? And the chintzy high heels?

                        Hi there Happy,
Nup, I missed it. Where I am doggy sitting at the moment, I can't get the TV to work.

yep, I'll do my best with photos, but I've only just bought a point and shoot camera with an underwater housing... it cost a bomb. So I don't have enough $$$ for a light. But I'll do me best, but underwater photography is a whole new ball game. I won't be diving every day so should get a chance to do a bit of a tour. Also Mr Rags (who cannot take a photo to save his life) will not be diving so I'll let him loose with 2 of my point and shoots.

Bloody hell! That sounds just like a restaurant I went to in Torquay in 1986......... it really was like being inside an episode of Fawlty Towers.

Cheeses thrice! I'm shocked, but delighted with your offer's of support. Thank's folk's.

Ok here, just my mum's having a rough trot. Nothing life threatening, just some possible delusional sense of smell, and paranoia stuff going on for her in her house, which is distressing her, and distressing me because it's distressing her. As i said to a concerned Frog earlier, i feel like superman when exposed to yer kryptonite style, in this situation. Anyway, there is family support, and at last mum has booked an appt with her GP for a chat and s full check up on thursday, at my insistence. That might rule out any physical stuff going on that could be contributing to some of what she's imagining. However, this is real to her, and we're getting a full check of all the electricals/gas/air con systems etc. to make sure all's well there. Anyway, i won't waffle on, and i'm not moaning, as i know many of you have/are going through far more difficult stuff with your families.
