            I would not have made it this far if I had not found this place. But one thing I've seen is we are all here for different but same reasons. We all have different stories of why we came on here but we are united that we want to find "a way out". In my case, I didn't start having problems because I was drinking but started drinking to numb, hide from my problems. As we all know, it just made things worse. So for me-just being sober is not enough. I have to deal with everything else. Slow painful process. It will be a life's work. But posting on here is a huge part of my recovery because so many people on here have gone through difficult situations and we have the common link that we tried to drown our sorrows. By coming on here--I am able to remind myself why drinking is not an option. Plus, I just really have come to care for so many of you on here. And it's great that we can have a laugh and talk about other things too!

                Well said expat, we are indeed from different paths & backgrounds but the alcohol monster knows no boundaries and will if we let it consume us all, But by standing together and helping and supporting each other through our daily ups & downs we certainly can move forward into a more happier place for all.
