You know one thing that was so nice in the states, I just said that I don't drink and no one batted an eyelid. Over here you would get the third degree. X
        Yeah it's crazy isnt it?

To be honest , these are all close friends and know about my issues with AL, but can tend to lean towards thinking I am not that bad and being over dramatic. Thanks for your number starts!

Better run for a bit my friend is here and I am posting online :H

All friends and rellies think "we arent that bad" My hubs did, despite having to put me to bed and cover up for me on numerous occassions...its their denial and also they dont want us to change too much or want to drink on their own. Very complex

You know, it's weird. The first thing my friend talked about when I told her I was going back stateside for may was about the leaving night. I made the mistake of telling her a while back that I would drink at my leaving night because it was so far in the future. Doh! Didn't think it would happen this quick. It's not an excuse to drink and i defo won't be but I need to break it to her gently.

                              Hi girlies

Kitty - I had a big hang up about my birthday when i quit, it was one of the 1st things i thought of when i decided, like " how could I POSSIBLY have a sober birthday!" anyway I remembered the previous birthday when I started drinking champagne at 11am and dont have a clue how I got home that night. I had serious AL posioning for 3 days :upset: Anyway I was still nervous about it when it came around and I did a couple of my fav things, I booked a massage and ordered a platter of sushi take away. When the day came around I realized that it was just another AF like all the rest, it didnt feel remotely strange not to drink cause thats what Id been doing up until then.

Cassia - I feel for you about the night out! The thing is there is no way you are doing something just to keep someone else happy  and you have worked too hard to get where you are. It would not be a positive note to leave on anyway. After I'd quit for 3 months a girlfriend came over and a group of us went out for dinner for a reunion. She bought a bottle of champagne and thrust a glass at me, I said "you know I've stopped drinking" to which she replied "well you could at least have a glass, its not very often we all get together!", I was seething and politely declined it.

                                Hi Chill...

Yeah my mate will be cool about it. I was her drinking buddy and I know she misses it...I mean, no one quite drinks like I did. But what a terrible note to leave on with an awful hangover. Ick!

What's on the agenda this weekend? X
