Ola everybody, it's Monday morning. Remember the cartoon strip Garfield, and how he hated Monday's - that is how I feel this morning. Oh well.
I had a nice weekend, got a lot of little painting jobs done around the house (honey do list). The kids and I went on a huge bike ride, played some road hockey etc. The weekends sure do go fast.
Have a good week everyone,
HillSober since Feb 7, 2010.

Back from the vacation which wasn't. LOL but then at least I got away for a week.... had some sober days and some couple of paced two drink days - certainly better than what was going on when I left and I got some good news on the medical front - nothing found on the tests. One area of concern tested ok. No cancer found. Yay.

Good Morning to all! Gosh did I ever sleep well last night - vaguely remember the storm passing through, but even if Ben was worried by it, it wasn't enough to wake me up! I was pretty tired. Slept in this morning too - and so did the dogs - they are tired as well as had been outside most of the day with me. I am almost relieved it is raining today!!
Quiting - I am so relieved for you that no cancer was found - huge hugs to you. And welcome back from your vacation.
Hill - busy with the children as always - such a good dad! Hope they appreciate it - you are like Bird - always doing stuff with the children - such a nice thing to see and hear about. Rog - you sound SO chipper this morning, which is great to hear - warms the cockles of me heart it does!! And I know you wouldn't really deny the kitty cat his milk....
Jan - so good that you enjoyed the AA meeting - and hope today's goes as well! Sounds as if things might be looking up for you? Yes, Fen, we were all in bed last night - I went early and was out like a light.
Grateful - where you are - or did you post and I misses it? Don't think so although I am rather late this morning. I am SO enjoying being on holiday. Haven't ever just stayed at home having more than two days off I don't think - well, not when I can do things and am healthy anyway!!
Ruby - good morning to you when you get here. And Nora - where are you?? Please just pop in and say hi - let us know you are okay..... Swannie - wish your friend Clair would pop in and give us some news...... Vicki - are you back today? RC - haven't seen you for a day or two either - hope you are hanging in there.
I am going to get another cuppa - I could get used to having two cups of tea in the morning. Back later,
love, Sun XXHow simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

Whew! Had a doc appt on the north side of Atlanta. If I didn't adore my cutie pie doc so much, I'd find someone closer. He gets through the medical stuff quickly, then we chat for up to half an hour. His nurses have been known to come in and remind him he has other patients! :H
I absolutely don't think big cities have any redeeming qualities! My stress level was a 10 by the time I got there, but happy now. No one but me and my pups. I stopped off and picked up a big bag of tacos for Hubs, so that's one chore I don't have to deal with tonight.
Poor little Tink is still limping from our fall yesterday. When will I learn to watch where my feet are going??
We're forecast severe weather AGAIN tonight. Downside of spring and winter fighting it out. Have to go back and check posts now. Hubs and I have some scheduling, etc. to figure out tonight. I'll call you, Rog. It's hot, balmy, sunny, and GREEN here now.sigpic

Wake up, friends!! I have a brag moment. Weighed on the doc's OFFICIAL scales today, and I'm down to a low for the last 15 years! MIL yelled at me as I was walking to my car this morning, asked how I was losing weight. Hated to tell her I DON'T eat all the scraps left on the plates like she does. In-law's eating habits are atrocious, but they're in their 80's, so what the heck. Good genes, I guess.
Little Tink has been in her dog carrier, on my shoulder, since I got home. Can't imagine what she would do without me. She hates to be separated from me, and I was gone 5 hours today, so she's traumatized! :H Yesterday, son came over, and he and TMB hate each other. She was out in the yard, and I heard Hubs laughing, saying 'Put your dog up!' I've never seen 2 creatures who hate each other as much as they do. I blame son, since he never tried to get to know her, and she knows he's scared of her.
Was reading on the news about the toddler in Michigan who was served a margarita instead of the apple juice that was ordered for him. Thank goodness his parents rushed him to the ER, and he's OK. I've read about little ones who get up early after their parents have had a big party, and drank the leftover drinks left around. It can be deadly for them. AND also in the news, a nurse anesthasist in Atlanta who was FINALLY caught after him filmed himself molesting women who were unconscious during procedures. Truly can't figure how he got away so long, but there may be hundreds of victims. SICK!
I'm talking to myself again, I guess, but thanks for the forum!! My doc wants to give me nerve-blocking injections (I did not complain, told him I was good) but he said he could look at me and tell more than I admit. He's SUCH a sweet guy. But my philosophy is this is my life, and it's not at all bad, so make the best of it. Complaining gets us no where. We have to be proactive, look for our best solutions.
Hubs just called back in to work. He's the only boss left for the next 2 days, so I guess it will happen. Couldn't stand having 100's of people wanting to know what to do next, but in 2 years, he'll learn who the real boss is!:H (He's retiring)sigpic

Hi rubes - it is VERY quiet here today isn't it - can't believe some of the stuff that you tell me - well, I can, but you know what I mean - dreadful!! Why on earth do people do stuff like that - I feel so sorry for them that they have to do it - they must be so sad inside.
I GOT MY BIKE BACK TODAY and have just got back from a ride. it feels really good and seems to have been sorted from whatever it was that was wrong with it - felt really good to be riding again too. Also felt good to have a day off from gardening. I have been messing with paperwork and doing odds and ends to get stuff ready for my meet up with Fen tomorrow - not a lot but filling the car and making sure my cell can be used up there - silly things. What can I say - I don't get out much. LOL Must also prepare snacks for the journey. I panic if I don't have food with me. I have printed out the directions. I suppose I should sort out my direction thingie in the car really that hubs bought me for Christmas a year or two ago., now there's a plan!! Add it to the list! I really MUST get out more!
Back later all,
hugs, Sun XXHow simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

Sun, I LOVE my Garmin (I call it my Nuvi). When I took MIL to a memorial service about 45 min from here recently, she was AMAZED at it. I generally don't get in to new technology, but this is a big plus for me, since I'm usually off the beaten path.
You be careful, old lady, on that bike! Truly, I bet you're cute as a button on it. I've asked for a moped, etc., but Hubs is terrified to watch me walk across the yard, so don't think he'll spring for one. 'Course, I might buy my own, and he'll have to deal with it! In his own gruff way, I know he worries, but we deal with what we're dealt, right?sigpic

Guess I need to call The Weather Channel. Sadie, our JRT, is glued to my leg, so there will be storms tonight. She's my weather dog. Have my plan on the ready, but def will sleep downstairs tonight. I've never seen a dog as tuned in to storms as she is, but we both may break something if she doesn't get out from under my feet! Hubs still at work, of course, Tornado warnings just to the west of us. What a price we pay to live in the South! 'Course, Wisconsin thru Ohio had terrible weather last night. We are so wooded and hilly, and our storms hit mostly at night, so it is a real challenge.
Son was living in a mobile home next door to in-laws when he first moved out of our house, and a storm that blew away in-laws garage, 2 more buildings, broke off huge pines. One crushed his car, another came horizonically through the side of his bedroom and stopped at the end of his bed. He ran, in his tighty whities, over downed power lines to in-laws. He's never gotten over it. It also destroyed the double-wide we bought in 1973, but the tenants weren't at home.sigpic

Okay - when I have finished ironing - or at the end of the NCIS that I am watching I will go out and see if I can work out how to work it! Think it is in my car! It would be sort of neat to have it tell me where to go (BE QUIET RUBY!!). Hope the storms don't cause any damage tonight!
Hugs all,
