Vicki-Welcome Home! We have missed you. I'm so glad that you had a good time with your daughter and family. I hope the new medicine will help relieve the pain in your hands. That is terrible what the banks did to Paul....we'll have to pray that a new door will open for him, right? Oh-Swannie asked a friend to post here and let us all know what is going on with her...we only heard from her once - last week....here is her post:

Hello.
Firstly i must tell you that this is a message from Not Quite a Swan, but it is not written by her (iam not going to use her real name as iam not sure if she uses it and i know that people that use these sites like to be anonymous).
My name is Claire and she has given me her site name and password so that i can write a note to you all on her behalf telling you why she has not been around.
A while back she was a passenger in a car that was involved in a serious accident and she sustained back and leg injuries that have meant a lengthy stay in hospital.Thankfully she is making a recovery but it will be sometime before she is back to 100%.
This has not been an easy or happy year for her and i know she has gained a great deal of support from everyone here and that is why she has asked me to write on her behalf.

Grate, never did ask how the apple dumplings went over?? I know Hubs ate all the ones I made, shared the recipe at work, and everyone there made them! So, good one, huh!!
Okay, I know I'll get haters for this, but have a NEW RIFLE!!! A .22 mare's leg, like Steve McQueen had. And Hubs had a metal detector delivered here, so I guess he's ramping up for retirement! Maybe I'll send him to visit MB, so he can go scan the beaches. The man DOES love his toys!

I am home after another long day, but I walked out at 12 and went to an AA meeting..I am really enjoying them...makes me realize that there are a lot of people so much worse off than me....

My rifle is for the creepy crawlies ( we DO have poisonous snakes!) critters after my critters, and any critters who might mistakenly be after ME! :H (LAWDY! Worse than all the above!!) Plus, they're just fun to use, improve my aim. I'm not on anyone's list to hurt anyone, ever, but just like to have them around. And my Hubs is the super safest cautionary ever. (though today I might choke his eyes out!) Bad day at work, but I knew that was coming. At a point, I gave him MY look, and he went away quietly, playing with his new metal detector. Woo Hoo!! He found a whole $1.45 next to the walkway!! Guess in 10 years he'll have it paid for! :H

Honey I'm home!!! We had a wonderful visit!!!! well, I thought we did anyway!!! Fen might have a different view of it.... LOL We met and sat and talked - then walked - and talked then sat some more and talked. She is really really nice!!!!! I so enjoyed myself. Fen tried to upload the pics to her computer while I was with her and it wouldn't work so I have to e-mail them to her yet. We got some folk to take some of us - she really is SO nice. It was a wonderful day out. It is amazing how you can talk on here then e-mail someone and then when you meet, it is as if you already know them.

I have an eye appt at 1000 tomorrow morning and my M-i-L is coming at 11.00 so I have to get busy! No time in the morning! I will be back later when I have tidied up and sorted stuff out - I do hope Fen enjoyed our time together as much as I did ! (I suppose she couldn't really say it here even if she didn't could she - ROTFL). DON'T LIE FEN !!!!

Wow, I've just read back over the whole month and so much has been happening with you all. I won't even try to comment on it all, but rather I'll mention what sticks in my mind now I've reached the end.

First, Bill, please know how much love is here for you and how much concern is going your way. As part of my signature says, don't give up, get up. It doesn't matter in the big picture if you've slipped up again. What matters is that you're still trying and that we'll all be here to support you, no matter what.
Hill and Bird, it warms my heart to see parents so involved with their children. It might seem exhausting now, but you'll reap the rewards forever.
Sunni and Fen, so envious of your visit and so look forward to seeing the pics. I bought myself a Navman GPS thingy this year and it's proved invaluable. I chose a pleasantly spoken English lady for the voice. No way am I going to have a man telling me what to do and where to go, ever again!
Rog, I was concerned as I read through the posts, but you're sounding more like yourself and things seem to be looking up for you again. I'm happy for you.
Mama, good job going to AA and I'm so pleased it's working for you. You're sounding very busy, but I think things are heading in the right direction for you again after a horror year last year, so here's hoping good things continue for you and hubby.
Ruby, as always, you are a true gem, keeping the wheels turning and always wisdom and discernment personified. I hope you know how much you are the heart and soul of this journey thread, and we, quite simply, love you.
Swannie, I'm so sad to hear about your accident and hope Claire will continue to post on your progress until you're back with us. I add my love and prayers to the others on your behalf.
Vicky, the size of your garden blew my mind. Lucky, lucky girl. However, you don't have to plant every square inch every year. Think of the benefits of letting some of the land lie fallow for a season or two, remember crop rotation and spare your poor hands. You have plenty on your plate at the moment with your daughter's wedding coming up next month and you don't want to be so burnt out that you don't enjoy yourself. Don't mind her unloading on you...she's stressed out, too, and I think all brides get a little testy before the big day.
RC, I gather you're going through some tough times. I wish I could do something to help. You're so very dear to me and I hate thinking of you under trial.
Nora, dear, dear Nora...if I could only make your problems magically disappear I would do it in a heartbeat. Have you thought about journaling again? It seemed to help and gave the rest of us the chance to offer our love and suggestions.
