      Just wanted to reply to your posts about Stilnox/Ambien. They are the same drug.
      IMO, it is a very dangerous drug especially if you combine it with AL. I was prescribed it a few years ago for sleeping problems. Stupidly I drank once in a while while taking it and did very weird things that I didn't remember the next day. Nothing, not even the slightest little hint of having done what I'd done. Mr. Stirly related the nightmarish things to me. I hadn't a clue. One night I decided that that was that, I'd continue with the Stilnox and quit the booze. Took the pill, went to bed and sometime later (I've no idea when) I got up, drank 500cc of whiskey, opened a can of beans and ate some. I only realized what I'd done the next morning when I found a bowl in the sink with this red sauce and couldn't figure out what it was. The opened can of beans was in the fridge so that answered my question. Suddenly I wondered if I'd drank as well. Opened the liquor cabinet and found the whiskey bottle missing. Started searching frantically for the bottle and found it empty behind the bin under the sink. I had absolutely no memory of either getting back up after I'd gone to bed or any of the rest. Seems that there was still enough AL in my system combined with the Stilnox to make me do something I wouldn't have ordinarily done. Note that I have heard stories of people doing very odd things while just taking the Ambien/Stilnox without drinking and again having no recollection of having done it. I think it needs to be used with great caution.

        Morning all from a poorly sick anon. My cold/etc developed into some horrible sinus infection making my face numb and sore and generally feeling awful.

        Worried that I will not recover in time for Sunday and that Marathon.

        Have been looking back over some of the posts Well done Starty and congrats Cassia. Will read up properly later.

The only thing I can think of is that he asked the Moderators to change his name. Sounds like you'll have to get some very strong meds into you if you want to do that race on Sunday. Best get to your doctor ASAP if you haven't already got something. :huggy

            Very odd things. I first heard about others having weird reactions to it when talking to a friend of mine from Phoenix a couple of years ago. A friend of hers had stayed over night at my her place and when my friend got up the next morning she found a pack of cigarettes and the receipt for them on the kitchen counter. The time on the receipt was something like 4am even though they'd gone to bed around 2am. She asked her friend about it when she got up and apparently the friend had driven over to an all-night gas station, bought the cigs and drove back home. and she didn't remember anything at all. And guess what she'd been taking to help her sleep? And she had nothing to drink since she doesn't drink and my friend who is an alkie as well, has been AF since 1999 and has no booze in her house. Dangerous stuff. And there was an article printed somewhere linking it to a suicide.

                It took me a while to get the message as well. The episode with the beans and the whiskey scared the shit out of me and I flushed them down the toilet right after I realized what I'd done. Another night Mr. Stirly had found me sitting on the floor with my sewing basket next to me and I was cutting up pieces of ribbons and lace. Luckily I didn't cut my finger off. The weird thing is that even tho' I had no memory of what I'd done any of the times I did something strange, I seemed to have been under control of my actions. Like hiding the whiskey bottle at the back of the cupboardand putting the can of beans in the fridge. And my friend's friend who drove her car to the gas station and back, parked it perfectly and then went back to bed. And you making that curry. Weird indeed.

                    Thanks - yeah it is going to be a tough day, and the test piece is for that job you're right. I couldn't work on it over weekend as Mum was here, then yesterday was mostly clearing up the devastation of the house and all the washing up!

                    Hopefully some caffeine will help. how are you doing?

                    That drug sounds a bit like when I was drinking heavily - I wouldn't recall anything yet I was still compus mentus a lot of the time as I would be ingenious with hiding stuff!

                          God that sleeping stuff sounds seriously scary! The only pills which ever pass my lips are vitamins and it will be staying that way.

                          Had a dream about chocolate, still 2 weeks and 5 days to go but I'm really pleased I haven't caved in.
