having a lazy day today, feel quite shattered after my busy weekend, daughter hubby and there 2 oldest kids went to x factor yesteday, so I was babysitting the 2 younger ones, but it was great to have them, had a roast dinner ready for when they came to pick them up.
I must admit I am enjoying the sober life, Ive had a few bumbs on my way, I still have days where I feel a little down, but who has'nt, thats part of life is'nt it, at least without the AL I can cope with that better. You know in the past, if I had been gardening, or cleaned the house, I would have a drink to reward myself, now I think thats not rewarding, thats punishing myself, I have been AF for quite a few months now, and coping pretty well. hope I have'nt bored you all to :upset:

have a great afternoon all Lilly
    Hi Lilly,

So glad that you are enjoying the sober life. It seems that almost underoos are into the gardening gig. Maybe I should try it. Trouble is I get the most unbearable hayfever if I even think about mowing the grass, pruning shrubs etc. etc. My sister gets into it and she gets a lot of pleasure from planting and watching things grow. Anyhow its nice to see you again and keep up the fabulous work! :h

      They look magnifico Tawn,

Takes me back about 28 years ago (yikes) when I did a stretch in Broken Hill. The blokes up there were mad about bottling olives. I got a recipe from an old Greek fellow, based on soaking them in a caustic soda solution, changing the solution every couple of days for about one month. I must have missed something in the interpretation of that recipe because the finished product was fusking orrible:disgusting::disgusting:I'm sure yours will be much more edible

Sun thats a brave move you have made leaving your homeland and yes it must be a tug on the heartstrings leaving your aging parents there. Your dog is a beauty, I have a Staffy..I am mad on them in fact her name is Lucy. Yes you heard right that I am a PT, choose your own interpretation - 1. Perpetual Twit; or 2. Personal Trainer. Actually thats how I feel at the moment - like a bloody dunderhead!!!!! Anyway I wont bash myself up too much although it does seem to go with the territory. I'm back on the wagon and drawing strength from MWO. Have walked Lucy along her favourite tracks and now tohave some lunch.

Yep, Aspy. First time I had enough to actually warrant doing something with them. Heaps of info (some conflicting) on the net - I basically soaked them in salt/water for about a month until they stopped tasting bitter. To the ones in the small jar I added the other stuff and I'll wait about a week before tasting them.
