Only grumpy Hubbys and squirrels trying to run up my pants leg or get on my head!! And the whole time, we were battling two little shreiking dogs and one GIANT one who tried to get behind the freezer!!

Oh my gosh - I go off to work and THIS is what I come home to - fen - I can't leave you alone for a minute - and Ruby - you with a gun - AT YOUR AGE!!!! Heaven help us all. What chaos. I am so glad that you all survived!!! All this could have had a very nasty ending - and a very sad one. Fen - next time, just let people know when you are popping in to raid the Nutella jar or the dog food eh???? Might be a bit safer!!! And Ruby - maybe you should give guns a miss for a while - do I need to shout that a little louder for you?????

Gosh - can't leave you all for five minutes - I would be very careful if I was you Swannie - heaven only knows what would happen to a swan!!!!

Anyway everyone, I am sort of tired - off to bed very soon - lovely to see you all here - Grateful so chatty today - and I wasn't here!! Vicki - please watch your blood sugar - hope Hubs elbow is better too!

The nicotania, I have planted every year for years and years - and I have never had either of the girls or any of the animals try to eat it - never even knew it was toxic!! I just love the smell of it. I have always planted it near my back door or along the way round to the back door and then collect the seeds each year so I can have it again the next year. I love it.

Talk tomorrow - mid shift - yuck. Hugs to all,

        Love, Sun XX

Nighty, Sun. Yes, I'm over the shock of Fen's visit now, wish she had just ASKED for the dogfood instead of ripping a hole in our newly rescreened door!! I only shoot varmint, not little critters as entertaining as her. One year, I convinced Hubs to dip a harmless snake (BIG) out of the pool and take it to the woods, several times, till he tired of the game. End of snake, unfortunately.
I'm very good with a gun (remember that Sun!) and sometimes they're necessary here. We have coyotes, armadilloes, poisonous snakes, and home salesmen, so you never know when you might need to reach over the door and take down the old doublebarrell! And it's always to protect my children and animals. Actually, I have more trouble with people who don't keep their dogs up; had one growl at me and keep me off my own porch once, before TMB.
Son has gone to cabin for the weekend. I hope to Monday or Tuesday. I see Vick has already given me her excuse for not coming to the meet. Who's next?? :H

Rubes, it's not like I could reach the door handle or anything! I had to get in the best way I knew!

(Hanging head...) I'm sorry, Sun. I got such a sweet tooth after raiding Fluff's Nutella earlier. Why isn't it good for me? It has nuts, after all! I'll call ahead next time...if there IS a next time!

Good morning everyone. Early start for me today. I am working out before work because the rest of the day is jammed. I need a coffee

Grateful, my son is 7, and he has been playing piano since September. He did great at the recital. The adjudicator gave him an "outstanding". He was so cute. I am very proud of him. And yes it is so nice to have some warm air for sure.
Fluff, does your daughter still play? How old is she? I think it is wonderful to have music as part of a childs life. Later in life, it makes music for them so much easier if they chose to follow that interest. Do you play an instrument?
Ruby, are those piano lessons good memories for you? I suppose the winter months it must have been tough slogging. Do you still play? It is tough, today, to find occasions for our children to start to build autonomy, but still keep them in what each parent feels to be reasonable safety. It is too bad, that a few mean people can change the world. Your pictures are beautiful.
Vicki, I am really glad that you are feeling better.

Take care everyone who visits today, it's Friday, wahooooo.

Wow- some crazy squirrel and gun stuff going on at Ruby's...Fennel is stirring up trouble, I see...
Hill, My daughter is 14 -she played the piano when she was about 10 and for a couple years- then moved on to the violin...she doesn't play anything anymore- except softball, soccer and volleyball...she's dabbled in about everything including dance, judo...the list goes on...
I can play the piano-but rarely...it's become more of a decorative piece of furniture in our house...
Sunshine- I'll have to seek out some of those nicotania plants and plant some in pots on my deck if they smell as good as you say...
My sis is visiting for the weekend-she lives in NYC-also we were invited to a party called "Drinko De Mayo" -won't stay there but for an hour then back to home...
My daughter has a softball game at 8:30 tomorrow morning- all her Saturday games were scheduled for that time! No sleeping in....
Hi to all who come in here today...
                It's always YOUR choice!

Is it safe to come in? Think I'll just tiptoe around this morning....Ruby might still be packing.....

Hill....that's so nice that your son had a great recital...and only 7! That is amazing! My son played the violin for years, then kind of dabbled like Fluff's daughter.....now he plays Xbox and has a girlfriend:upset:....but he'll be working again this summer. Tomorrow he is taking the SAT....enjoy your little ones, Hill...they do grow up so fast. Even my granddaughter seems to change each week.....

I am home today with Addy...think we'll go to Kohl's. My co-worker's birthday is Tuesday....she'll be 71...she's been with my boss for over 45 years! Sadly, I don't know how much longer our company will be around...people still aren't looking to build homes in my area.

I'll try to check in later to see what exciting things happen to Ruby (& Fen) today....you all be good!

                  Love ya.

Oh, oh, oh--things have been lively here--Fen come visit my magical spot--you have relatives--the loons and geese have arrived now--truly Spring is here--and I will leave a steady supply of nuts by the mermaid--what's your preference? Sorry, no nutella--think of it as a health spa visit.

Sun I almost bought some nicotania last year but decided it was not in my budget. They are lovely and hold some place in native healing/spirituality. Maybe you could send me some seeds?

Miracle here with telecommunications--I not only have high speed but WiFi at home now. I can take this baby anywhere in my home now--perhaps on the deck when it gets warmer! Woohoo--amazing how we come to value our internet.

Wishing you all a bright, brighter, brightest day! xo

Ruby...I saw that Good Morning America was in Albany, GA this morning.....Emeril was there to make breakfast in bed for a special Mother....I thought of you!

Off to make pancakes for Miss Addison!

Morning loves! Don't be askeered of me, loves! I haven't gotten to shoot anyone yet; my bark's worse than me bite (can't speak for TMB, she doesn't bark much!). And Grate, NEVER be afraid of visiting here, for whatever, and whenever!
Himself is already out cutting grass. He's gotten SO much done this week, and can't understand why I haven't, even with him clumping in constantly with grass and dirt in his boots, yelling 'where's this, where's that,' doing more damage than Fen
bumping into things, tripping over things, and his favorite - 'FEED ME!' I usually ignore him or just give him THE LOOK. We have a pretty good system; I let him blow off steam, then he does something really nice for me. :H It's Friday already, and he's just turning in to a human, back to BOSS status on Monday.
Fen, I'm not sure how he will react now if I ever tell him your really coming for a visit! Expects lots of nuts and dog kibble in bowls around the house!!
Tay came over for a couple hours yesterday. She cracks up when I tell her about all the dumb things that happen to me. She's SO much like Hubs, son, it's good to see her laugh at me. She can be a whiney 17 y/o, but she looks after me in her own way, and loves the same things I do. I make her work for things she wants, but it's a lot better than watching what goes on with people catering to their children, giving them a false sense of the world. She talked to me about personal things (I didn't ask) she never talks to adults about, so I must not be too hard on her. She's SO shy, so reluctant to talk to people, but so perceptive.
Fluff, I've grown nic, and it's lovely. I love all old fashioned plants. Have several heirloom tomatoes in my garden. Vick, I'll trade you plants - would LOVE some ginger plants. And I'd like to have kumquats from MB, loquats from Bird. Been thinking of putting out banana plants too, Vick. BTW, won't your garden be good (Paul can pick it!) for 2 or 3 days. You can fly over here, I'll come get you. Get a break from him and the work!
Weekend of June 25th, friends. BE HERE!

Hi Roger-Hope you have a good day
Well, Ruby I went to the plant store-and couldn't find the nics- but did end up with some beautiful big red geraniums to put on the front stoop and in front of the garage...I need plants that can handle full sun...now I need to find something for the pool area and plant newplants or decorative grass by the pool pump-
Vicki-I looked up banana plants I don't think they'll take to my climate especially with winter-but thanks for that suggestion...What else do you grow in your garden? I tried growing tomatoes in a pot last year- and got a yield of maybe two..:H.and same thing with banana peppers-I am not a gardener, that's for sure...I just go to the supermarket...
Sunshine- Where do you work-you said retail, I know-but clothing store, maybe?-Hope you get a good discount.
