I'm chilling at the Coffee House for Aging Hipsters, and they're finally playing my kind of music. I hate when they do the whiny, emo boy stuff.
I hope everybody is surviving the storms that have been tearing through the middle of the country. How terrible about MO! It's awful to think of how many people have died due to tornadoes this season already. My state even had a tornado in LaCrosse the other night. I just can't imagine...Comment

It's been a wildly crazy day. I finally bought my I-phone yest, and it does everything but wash dishes. I can now use my laptop while riding in the car, at the cabin, etc. Plus it has a big, hi-def screen and a huge digital keyboard so I can actually see and hit the numbers.
To you mommas of future and past military boys, it is a scary, life-changing experience. The men of my family have always served, and we have had some injuries. My best life-long friend has 3 boys, and they were all in Marines at the same time. So, RC, the saying is true, 'Those also serve who wait at home.' I fear the day my grandsons are that age, but I know if they do serve, I will be terrified and proud at the same time. My husband was less than 2 weeks away from going to Viet Nam when that war ended, so there is hope. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Biz, I'm SO sorry life is difficult. Come here no matter what. You have friends here, who will listen, and comfort you.

Vikie...I agree with Fen...my husband has given me ultimatums that have scared me straight ... for awhile...it is a strange mixture of compassion and toough love that is needed. When I drink I am not ugly unless I get picked on so maybe that is the difference...just know we are here for you and love you

Thank you again friends and dare I say family. Those that know my situation will understand that I am very proud of my son for making this decision. There is far worse ways he could have gone given the circumstances. He has held a crap job for almost 4 years--graduated HS and now wants to "make a difference". That he feels he would be better with no fucking parents in his life is heartbreaking. I know that our job is to raise our kids to spread their wings and fly--fly right is the hope. He has flown pretty straight through many turbulent years that I was not a part of and I pray that he and all our children fly safe. xo

Day 4 soon to be Day 5I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Biz, you and your family are in my thoughts.
Rene, thanks for sharing a little more about your situation. You are right, this is a place that you can truly express how you feel, and we are here for you always.
Sunshine, I have never been able to figure out sleep either. It is a mystery. Over time, once settling in to a sober life, my sleep in general is really so much better. In addition, I don't stay up late, because I want to drink, when I know that I am tired, and should go to be. I used to burn the candle at both ends, and I feel that wasonly taking time off the end of my life.
Vicki, I am sorry about your fight with Paul, I am sending you a big hug!
