I am so surprised that I didn't see any snakes today. Saw a wild Turkey, a Chippy, goldfinches, wood peckers, chipping sparrows and a dead coyote. Oh, two red tailed hawks, too.

Such a good day, but Hubs is 'ill' because he has to go to work tomorrow. I finally told him to :biteme: and he backed off.
Saw a hawk nest here in the front today, and our bluebird family. They've nested there every spring for the last 10 years. I hope it's the offspring of the original family. The squirrel was back nosing around today, but TMB was on the porch, so it didn't break in.
Had fun with my kids and grands today; they make it all worthwhile.
QT, lumbago is wicked. Glad you're getting it under control. Fen, you collect any ticks today? How's your mom?

MB, if I root a gardenia, do you want one?

Hope everyone had a great day, enjoyed the spring weather. I did! Sometimes I wake up grumpy, sometimes I let him sleep. But he went over and spent time with his momma today, and she LOVED both the gift and all the work he did clearing in the woods. He can get more done in 2 hours than I can in 2 days. He worries about me and power tools. Guess I can understand that! Even the girls notices it, and how it looks like a beautiful park down there now. Another acre to clear, under the trees, but what's done now looks SO beautiful. I've made a vow to start spending at least an hour each day working down there. The trees are so beautiful; oak, maple, dogwood, and wild red cedar, and some sourwood, sweetgum, and poplar I want cut out. Poplar was considered the all use utilitarian tree by the Native Americans. Canoes, bark, firewood, you name it. Remember the plaque we saw by that huge one at Anna Ruby Falls, T?
I hate that FIL is SO insensitive and selfish he never thinks of MIL, especially on Mother's Day. It's very hard for her to ride in his truck, but does he ever stop and think about it? NO. Like I've said, the old buzzard will have to depend on me one day. HeHeHe!!

Hey Ruby - would gardenias work here? Or does it get too cold in the winter? I love the smell of them - and under our lounge window would be perfect for them....I can check and see if it would work in our area for them - it would be wonderful to have a plant from you for me. I didn't say anything yesterday but my feelings were so hurt b/c my two teenegers did NOTHING....NOTHING for Mother's Day for me . Selfish little shits. Grant has a car and they have their own money.....Bret kept reminding them.I guess that's just teenagers for you...and boys to boot.
Trust me....I milked it all day!! Bret has promised me a pedicure next weekend, but that's not the point. I spend so much time making sure everyone feels special at Easter, birthdays ,etc
