Oh Jan - you sounded as if you had an absolute ball - you sounded exhausted but so happy! I am so pleased that you had such a good time. And such a good workout too! Are you signed up for next year yet??

Yes, it is a Sheltie that I am fostering - I am still waiting for her to arrive. Can't really settle down to anything so am on here!! I left the cream for my eyes at work last night and can't even run and get that which is a nuisance...... maybe later I will have a chance to get it. anyway, they will be here sometime within the next hour or so - I am sort of excited and scared - never fostered a dog before. wonder what Ben and Maggie will make of it.

Love that you have the whole day to yourself - isn't it lovely?? I usually have Sundays to me too.... and love it. Well done Drifty and Nelz - good for you - keep it going!

Hey all - well, they are all here and so far are all getting along just fine. Sadie is sweet. She is next to me right now in her crate (with the door open.) The lady that brought her was the one that had been fostering Ben and she said that I have to put Ben on a diet (BAD mummy). Sadie is also overweight so is on a diet too. her heart is stressed anyway 'cos of the heartworms so the extra weight is hurting her even more. She is a barker - and ducks and cowers if you move wrong - WHY do people hit/beat their dogs????? They don't know her history at all, so it is a learning experience for all of us - don't even know if she is house trained!!

My neighbour just called and said that I had caught something in the netting over my loganberries - there was a snake and he had caught himself up in the netting along the ground so I had to cut him out - he was so good and kept very still while I was cutting him free - which was good as I had to cut right next to his body. Once he was loose enough he just scooted away!! Now I need to go and fix the hole in the netting.

I will take a picture of Sadie but will have to send it to someone to post - I have not sorted out Photobucket or anything else yet. RC? Ruby? Umm - Vicki? Anyone? I need to take the picture first though. I know that I should do the Photobucket thing but it all gets so complicated.

It will take two months to get it treated - and it isn't very easy - she has to be kept quiet! the second month is even harder than the first and they might switch us out with a more experienced foster home for a different dog and she would go to a home where they have done it before and we would get a 12 year old elderly dog !!!

Goodmorning everone, I hope that you are well. Today is such a gift, a Holiday in Canada. The lovely three day weekend!

Sunshine, yes being busy keeps me out of trouble, but being sober is what really keeps me out of trouble. That is something I have not thought about much, but I love not being in trouble, and not sneaking around, or being at risk of getting pulled over etc - another benefit of sobriety!
Nelz, it is great that you are working out - it helps me too. Keep adding those days together, you can do it.
Mama, I hope you get some rest, and some aloe cream for your sunburn.

Good Morning Hill! Our holiday weekend is next weekend - and I actually get the three day weekend off too - except mine will be Sunday, Mon., and Tues! Anyway I am so pleased to hear how happy you are with sobriety - I don't drive when I have been drinking so that is one thing I didn't have to worry about but I can imagine the fear and worry. My daughter does go out and will then drive home and I worry SO much about her - I constantly talk about it with her and I think it is beginning to sink in as now when she goes out, she will tell me who is driving before I ask!! She went out on Friday and SHE was the DD and drank water all night - I was so proud of her!

Well, first night with the new dog in the house - at bedtime it didn't help that there was a raging thunderstorm overhead! But they all did fine and thank goodness she IS house trained (we didn't actually know). The squirrels had better watch out - Maggie has never known what to do with them if she gets close to them, Ben is too timid to chase them quickly - but Sadie was like a bullet out of a gun this morning with one on the feeder! Boy, that squirrel moved fast!

Hope your sunburn is better today Jan - and that you enjoyed your day to yourself yesterday - and you shouldn't feel guilty being in your nightclothes later in the day - it was YOUR day to you !!

Just a quickie, HAVE read back and just must say how proud of you all Rog and I are of keep the posting going. We're following the Sadie Saga, and it sounds like a good match! I promise to talk to everyone soon, but my MRI is in an hour & half. Hubs took the day off to ride yesterday, then watch his beloved NASCAR and work in the garden. I had hoped we would all feel comfortable about doing our own things while The Rogers were here, but it was great. Hubs has been a lovely host. He showed Rog where all the fuel, tools, and toys were, I pointed out what I wanted cleared, and Rog chainsawed his happy way all afternoon. He'd load the Gator, take it to the dump zone and push the dump button 'Voila', then back to cut more! At 7:00 last night, after his shower,, as he sat down to homemade chicken and dumplings, he said 'I had FUN!' Sue went in the pool, it's heating up quickly, has been doing my dishes, and we've been chatting away. The area Rog is clearing is an old path that's overgrown, so I think I'll christen it the Roger Road!!
