Army thread Sunday May the First

    tiptronic_ct;1107534 wrote: Morning, Army.

Our dinner party was a success. The snacks went down a treat - little samoosas, prawn wraps, cream cheese & salmon thingies & chicken satays. A lovely Cape Malay chicken curry with rotis for mains. Youngest cub baked some choc brownies for afters.

    Dead lazy now though!
YUM!!! I want some of all of that . Now. Tip's you have me starving now:H

Not a hissy fit Jackie. Just a normal reaction to someone bashing the thread that we post on every day. I wonder if the person who said those nasty words ever counted how many of the members who post on the Army thread are sober. Totally AF. I'd say we've got one of the highest percentages of AF posters on the forum except for the Abstinence threads. And from what I know, only a couple of Army members are using Bac or similar medications to stay AF. So if his reaction to the Army threads is "WTF?" then he obviously has no idea that you actually can be AF on sheer willpower alone. Combined, of course, with proper eating, exercise and some supplements that are part of living a healthy life and giving back to our bodies some of the nutrients and such that we robbed it of during all those years of drinking.

Well I take what is seen as a small dose of Baclofen but never go on the meds thread anymore mainly because it seems so weird and often gets incredibly nasty.
Mrs. A - there is nothing wrong IMHO with taking low dose Bac if it helps you. I admit that I don't know much about the drug having not taken it and I only know about it through the posts here. I do wonder tho' since it's a muscle relaxant, what the long-term effects on your body would be if you were staying on high-dose Bac to stay sober. I just wonder if a person titrates down and finds that the cravings come back, what will they do? Go back up again and stay on high-dose Bac or try another method? And from what I've read, some people have very bad side effects even on low doses so I guess it's simply not for everyone. And as KTAB pointed out, I don't think it's the silver bullet for that very reason. Anyway, enough of the Army members and members who regularly post on other threads, such as the Undies and the Journey thread have proven that you can get and stay sober without long-term medication. But each person has to find the method that works best for them. Bashing what others do just because they're not following your method is just plain nasty as far as I'm concern and I really don't see what the purpose of those posts are.

Morning Troopers - hope you're all well.

Fresh as a daisy this morning after a 8 hour sleep. Was up for 21 hours yesterday! Loved my movie night though with the girls - we watched Insidious - good scary movie recommendation

Today I am going shopping for MYSELF for the first time in years, thanks to my new job and having not WASTED my money on booze. Hurrah!

        Have a great day all.

          Morning EW,

What a smashing way to spend the day.

I didn't get a nanna nap yesterday and had an awful nights sleep.

Dead lazy now though! Those snackie thingeys sound divine. Don't know about the curry tho'. I've only eaten it once a zillion years ago and didn't like it. Mind you it was probably something that someone added curry powder to and the powder didn't enhance the taste of the food or something like that. I'll have to try it again some time. I now eat lots of foods that I didn't when I was young.

Right how do you do that I was just going to use you as an example of doing anything to get sober and up you pops.

I always think this is a brilliant signature.

Bac or ballet dancing. If it works it works.

              Oh and Yooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooo Tippers,
Yep, that's it. Bac or AA or belly dancing. If it works, it works and be grateful you found how to get and stay AF.

Oh EW - it's wonderful that you can treat yourself and that it's due to both your new job and not buying booze. :goodjob::wave:

See you later Jackie. I've got fresh strawberries today. Delish...
