KTAB-just read your post from last night. I really liked the way you phrased the "sometimes you just have to shout to be heard on here-just like in a real family"--or something like that!:H It is so true! And made me smile because my dad's sister had seven kids and they all married and have kids...so when we all get together for Christmas or whatever-one does have to shout, haha! Made me think of that! Peace Army. This is such a special place.And I do know everyone on here cares-even if we have to shout every now and then. In the most polite way of course. Unlike on some other threads.

oops I think I broke ranks there and had a bit of a hissy fit.

My Dad was one of 8 so when all the cousins, Aunties,Uncles got together it was a bit like a rugby scrum with me Nana as referee and me Granddad as a lines man.

No you didnt JC. Against my better judgement I am copying a post from meds.

I don't bother with GD because I don't see that point in Shouting out about another super sober sunday or any of that bollocks. Shout out? It's a load of wind. Or the ever-present Army Thread. WTF is that about?!
I'm also not interested in reading the same crap over and over again. "I held my breath for 600 days and then I fucked up and now I'm back to square one, I feel like shit..."
I tried talking about baclofen there, and my successes with it, and a group of harpies attacked me with their handbags. Fuck that.
So that's why I don't hang out there. There are some good souls who can flit effortlessly here and there, and I have nothing but admiration for them. But I have nothing to contribute there. Me saying "You can do it!" would be bullshit. Because I don't think, most of the time, you can.

I very seldom go in there and I almost never post for the simple reason that I dont take medication in an effort to find the silver bullet. I would prefer to examine the bigger more holistic picture. I agree it isnt always successful but is taking unprescribed pills? There is generally a reason behind why most alcoholics drink and ignoring the issues wont make them disappear.
Now unfortunately not everyone sees it this way and that is fine. The one thing I think we need to understand here is that showing disrespect to others beliefs or methods is absolutely not acceptable. Fine if this member has those opinion they should learn to bite their lip for posts such as this one do absolutely nothing for anyone, except maybe the person spewing forward such bitter bile. Personally they just make my blood boil but I suspect that is their raison d'etre. It takes all sorts.

Well I take what is seen as a small dose of Baclofen but never go on the meds thread anymore mainly because it seems so weird and often gets incredibly nasty.

Hi Anon a few people in the army take bac and I think if is is working then bloody brilliant.
What I object to is the 'my way or the highway, take bac and all your worries are over' attitude. That and attacking anyone with open hostility if they happen to not agree with you 100%.

Our dinner party was a success. The snacks went down a treat - little samoosas, prawn wraps, cream cheese & salmon thingies & chicken satays. A lovely Cape Malay chicken curry with rotis for mains. Youngest cub baked some choc brownies for afters.

Dead lazy now though!
