ok enough of me being an oul one hope everyone is in good form? Mario, you feeling any better?
Hi Molly - glad you had a good weekend. I reckon there is going to be a huge problem for the hospitals in the not too distant future with all the drinking our generation has done over the years and the resulting liver problems. I doubt that there will be enough livers available for transplant.

        Hello All!

Hope you've enjoyed your long weekend (Where applicable!) I've spent the day sunbathing and am as brown as a berry - hurrah!
On the brighter and more selfish side of things, I finally feel peaceful and calm - grateful to have my job and be able to relax on a weekend and enjoy Monkey-time and some sun!

Hello to you, too Mr. EW. That's a good thing to hear, that you're feeling better and things are going so well for you.

Hiya Zen do you think I should start a thread telling people that the only cure for alcoholism is running?
:upset:No that can't be true. I couldn't run a mile for love nor money.

Glad to hear you're back to your old self Startypants. You know what the popular solution used to be for a toothache here while waiting to see the dentist? Hold a shot of brandy or ouzo on the inside of your mouth where the toothache is and hold it there til the AL numbs the pain....

        YooooHoooo, Reccie!!!

Molly, the most frightening thing I've seen lately involving teens and AL was that they hold shots of vodka on their eyeballs and let it be ingested through the eye. If that isn't just fecking freaky I don't know what is. One young girl had written that she had permanent damage to her eye due to it and would never be able to see clearly again and she was only 20 years old. Duh. Well, ya. How long do you have to hold a stinging liquid to your eye for it to be ingested? And doesn't it just sting like hell at least the first few minutes. That would be a wee warning I'd say that you could be doing something really, really harmful to yer orbs....

I'd definitely give them a ring to find out. I think you said they'd let you know by Wednesday of the week before last so you might as well end the uncertainty. There's still hope - I went for an interview for the only company I worked for in my life in October and wasn't offered the job until the following February.

Not necessarily, Starty. I would think that they would have called the ones they didn't want as soon as they knew they weren't right for the position and so perhaps they're still considering. Sometimes it takes companies a long time to make up their minds. I once worked for a boss who wanted a new secretary and it took him almost a month til he found the right one. And she was one of the first he'd seen. He just wanted to see who else was out there.
