Morning Chill! Great to see you! You know, we had such a long grey cold winter in the Paris area that I am just over excited that we are finally getting some nice days:H! Like you, I had to move from a house in a sunny climate to a flat in the city with cold (long) grey winters and autumn. Also, with two young children and a dog. It did take some getting used to. But we adapt-it just takes time. The hardest for me was the morning dog walks at 6am when its still dark and freezing-and having to walk down the stairs to the street with my little pooper scooper bag.:upset: No more garden and just opening the door to let dog (or kids) out to play. So, I just had to search out the "positives" and try to make the best of it. I do appreciate being within walking distance of all the shops and I don't need a car to get around. I walk everywhere. Today we are going into Paris to check out a street/music festival in the Canal St Martin area of Paris. That's another good thing about big city life-there is always something going on! Hope you all have a great day in all your different parts of the world! :l expat

Expat you hit the nail on the head! Down 2 flights of stairs with my poop bag is quite a culture shock, I'm usesd to the coutryside and sheep as neighbours and sipping my morning coffee on the terrace with my chill music blaring. As you say we are adaptable and I guess I will get used to it."In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."

I am back. Yeh up early this morning, was planning on tackling the garden but it hasnt stopped raining for 24hrs. Mind you it has been dry for weeks but I can see the plants and grass shooting up before my very eyes. Speaking of dogs one of them left me a present this morning, just as well the hall is tiled.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
