    Army Thread 7th May

Here in the Army, I reckon Reccy.

Forgive me Army for I have sinned. I have eaten chocolate on at least 5 occasions this week.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Five times in one week? :shocked:You will soon become circumferentially challenged! Your penance is at least two pieces of fruit every day for a week.

        Circumferentially challenged. Love it.

I went without choccy for 24 days, I can go CF again. I've done it before. Carry on like this and I'm gonna need a hoist to get me on the plane and Bryanair charge 6 euros for that.

Ok 2 pieces of fruit a day.

Good to see you back posting. Can you really fix yer jiggy jiggy machine? My electric iron had a rattling sound in it once and I decided to take it apart and see what was wrong. When I opened it up, two pieces bounced out. I found out where the one piece went but couldn't figure out where the other piece went. I did figure out it's purpose tho' when I plugged the iron in again. It was the part that made the iron turn off when it got to the right temperature....

I wonder if you passed through the town we live in as it is a port for ships that go to many of the most popular islands.

He swore blind and kicked up a stink for 2 days that I hadn't given it to him, so feeling ABSOLUTELY robbed I coughed up 320 and got rid of him - he was a bit scary! 5 yrs later I was clearing out old ornaments in the dining room - wot's sitting under a statue...........320 quid!!! Nice finding all that loot - but I'm blushing even now about that poor man - I wasn't even booze challenged then!!Oh Molly, I am blushing along with you. Oh dear, I'd have felt that bad too. Sorry to say, but it did give me a bit of a chuckle as well...

You confess on the Army thread whatever you want and need to Reccie dear. Dog help a priest who'd heard half the things that have been confessed to here, and on the other threads...

Molly, let's just say that it's a country that is well worth visiting. We have everything from tropical beaches like this...

to the Vikos Gorge which is the deepest in the world,

to the famous sunset of Santorini

And the amazing area of Meteora where there are monasteries built on top of the strange rock formations.

And we have great ski resorts as well, Parnassos being one of the most popular...

Okay, I'm now the official "Tourism Tart" of Greece...

We went to Kephalonis on a really cheap deal and it was wonderful except for me getting pissed every night. We went to Ithica and it was brilliant and I managed to stay sober for 3 days. I really thought I had cracked it.

Soon after that I fell over after drinking and broke my ribs and my ankle and then knew I had to get sober. I have had a few bumps in the road since then but have never been drunk since then.

Still got hammered a good few times but young enough to be able to put it right with a great big breakfast.

Just for you... Don't know what church this is but there is a little church at the harbour called St. Nicholas. He was the patron saint for sailors. I think that our life is like a journey on the ocean. Calm days, wavey days and days that the waves look like they will swallow us and we'll never make it to dry land. For me, St. Nicholas is not only patron saint for the sailors, but for all of us. We have a special fondness for him in our family. Won't go into details but it involves my Father sitting up in a chair the next day after an operation that the doctors said he wouldn't make it through, and a dying kitten who grew up to be the most beautiful cat. Love this watercolour of one part of the harbour...

Mrs. A - I've not been to Kefalonia (that's how it's pronounced) but I have been to Lefkada and Zachinthos which are islands in the same area. The sea and beaches are incredibly beautiful. I've been told tho', that Kefalonia has the most beautiful beaches of all the islands there. I expect they're right...
