i've just been sorting through some old videos and had this thought. obviously i realize when im totally pickled but how about earlier on.
i came across some video of me insisting i wasnt drunk. i was slurring, squinting, pulling strange faces, saying stupid things yet insisting that i wasnt drunk. OF COURSE I WAS DRUNK! i know i still do this, i honestly dont realize when im drunk.... perhaps this is why i continue drinking when to others i am obviously drunk but to me im just slightly chilled out.
any thoughts on this?

That's a hard one, Spud. I knew, but thought I was VERY clever, till I saw the photographic proof later!

Boy I can relate to that as well. Like you guys, I thought I was SO clever at hiding what I thought was mild tipsyness. Photographs were quite revealing, but I chose to ignore the evidence. I would also ignore things like voice mails I would leave, and then listen back to :egad:. E-mails I would send, etc. The evidence was all right there that I had a very serious problem. But I ignored it for a long long time.

Spuds, one of the huge benefits of stopping drinking is not having to worry all the time. No more "was I OK? Was I slurring? Did I say something stupid? Did I send any regrettable e-mails? Did I drunk dial anyone?" Etc. LOL - I was the last one to know exactly how bad of a drunk I really was.

Oh Spuds I have been so drunk I threw up all over the bed and woke up in my hubby's clothes, all new sheets and didn't remember ANY of it. I seem to have no stop button.

Sometimes the problem was, I would wake up in the morning with this very vague feeling I probabaly said something stupid on another message board I frequent. As I would lay there, waking up, bits and pieces would come back to me very slowly.

Then after returning to the computer, I would indeed find some heated discussions with some other members, clearly fueled by AL.

All be darned if in the last six AF days, I have not done that......hmmmmmmmm:H

Me, I never knew when I was drunk. I had no tipsy in me. Ever. I went from completely sober to completely smashed in literally a matter of seconds. So nope, never knew when I was drunk. Efiin sucked to be honest.

Me?? Drunk???? NEVER!!!! Nopesy, I never thought I was drunk. All the chaos around me when I was drinking was caused by people who just didn't understand, or annoyed me for no reason or demanded respect, honesty etc unreasonably. Ha! I certainly don't have a clue when I'm tipsy, more than tipsy or just outright drunk. I'm a zero to a million in .5 seconds kinda gal who must always avoid that first sip! But, I'm doing it AGAIN and it feels good!

To me I feel the drunkeness when I drink. Some times more then others.

Fortunately I have done only a few stupid things. But still I have done them.
