I scored the bargain of a lifetime with the eldest cub's new glasses. He started wearing contacts earlier this year, but when his old glasses broke we decided to get him a new pair. The optometrist showed us everything on display and then told me to hang on. He produced a very nice frame (nod of approval from 14 y/o), which cost us the sumtotal of 20 pounds (lenses included).I'll do whatever it takes

I tried the extremely reasonable priced glasses at Tesco, they weren't. So I went back to me ever so posh, they must cos a fortune optician and they're not.

It would have cost you a fortune in train fares, Mrs A.
Luckily our 2 kids have inherited my eye sight, I still only need reading glasses and only been wearing them a few years.
(nod of approval from 14 y/o),It could be worse, I could be filing.

I have really enjoyed it, and the HOD was pleased with me and said she hoped I'd apply for a job there after I qualified. No straight back to uni on Monday, although they don't know where the classes are yet because most of the buildings are out of action since the earthquakeIt's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.

It was a bit of a crash course as we only had the week at uni before the earthquake and a few lectures in a tent the week before we went out. But I enjoyed it thoroughlyIt's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.
