Zenstyle;1123004 wrote: I just called Cheryl and asked her about her program. It was about 30 years ago so its probably not around now but it went like this...

You go to a meeting every week for 12 weeks where you get a pep talk and given your next project and they hand out pamphlets on the dangers of smoking.

Every week you have to switch brands and if you smoke menthol you need to switch to regular and vice versa. And every week they add on other things to "hinder your enjoyment". Like smoking with the other hand, can't smoke and drive, can't smoke and talk on the phone, can't smoke for 15 mins after eating week 1, 30 mins after eating week 2 etc. Have to write down every cigarette, saves your stubbs and ash in a glass jar so you can be disgusted... and finally on the last week you add water to the jar to totally gross yourself out.

OMG!!!! I hate to say it but I was in bits laughing talking to her! She said "It basically makes it so hard to smoke you say frig this shit and give up"!!! :H:H:
    OMFG. :H:H:H

              Hiya Troopers.

Finally popping in for a quick :wavin: I've been trying to get some extra things done arund the house the last while on my days off. I have to say our store room is looking in much better shape and Mr. Stirly now has a total of 24 polo shirts and summer t-shirts ironed and hanging in his closet. He wouldn't dare to say that he's nothing to wear..:H

On the subject of ciggies, I was never a great smoker although I did get up to half a pack of those slim ones a few years ago. Mr. Stirly cut out the cigs right after his first heart attack although he smoked cigarillo thingeys. Since the second heart attack, he still smokes them but only three or four a week. He'd been up to 15 a day at one point. Thing is, even tho' the cigarillos have a strong smell and bother most people, I find ciggie smoke smells much worse. Especially stale ciggie smoke. I guess that's why I'd never be a big smoker. I can understand fully tho' why it's so hard to quit. Mr. Stirly used to go antsy at night if he thought he didn't have enough smokes to get him through the evening and then three or four in the morning before the kiosks opened at 7:00 am. He'd call one of the sons who were out with their friends to pick him up a pack on their way home. He used to always smoke a cigarette first thing in the morning - 6 a.m. which would make me gag when I got up. The morning he had his first heart attack, he'd already had one ciggie and because the pain was so bad, he lit a second one hoping that it would lessen the pain. We all know that that makes your veins and arteries contract so it was the perfect solution to overcoming the pain of the blocked artery. So for you smokers - and I sincerely, truly hope you never have one - if you ever think you're having a heart attack, don't light up.... (said with love)

Quite some time ago I'd posted info about calories in alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I posted it but it was quite shocking how many calories you consume when you drink a bottle of wine or a few drinks a day.

Troopers, it's that time again - time to walk the dogger and off to bed. Another work day again tomorrow and that bloody alarm goes off so very early...:upset:

                            Wishing you all....

And to Zennie - have a great afternoon.

                            Tomorrowz...:catroll:

I have still got loads of lovely clothes too big at the moment but still not sure that I will stay this size forever. Funny in my head I am still size 18. I hope that does not sound arrogant:upset:
