HERE WE GO 30 DAYS AF IN JUNE

    Hi JuneBugs!

I am joining the fight! Today is day one so I won't be able to say I was totally AF for the month of June as here we are on the 2nd. But you have to start somewhere, right? In January, I stopped drinking early in the month but not on the first and when I made it through February, I just kept adding the days like you all are and eventually reached 60, then 70. Then I messed up but oh well, I am back in the saddle again! Good luck to everyone during the beautiful month of June!

      Hi SL,

I keep meaning to say that I think 22 days in April and 15 in May is amazing. I had never had that many days in a given month.....EVER, so I think that is great.
I'm on day 12 yikes, I'd like to catch up with you.
Ready and willing to go 30,60,etc..........

There certainly is a lot of energy in this group! Thanks Drifty for getting it going, and congrats on your day 13! :yougo::yougo:

HERE WE GO 30 DAYS AF IN JUNE

Hey You Guys, thanks for the encouragement. I was wrong. It WAS only June 1st. Ooops .. my excuse a hangover. But NO HANGOVER this morning. Hey to all you red wine drinkers... try good quality cherry juice. It is DELICOUS and looks just like the stuff with poison in it. Drank a glass with my meal last night. Funny thing is I wasn't tempted to drink the whole bottle... no addictive chemicals in that nectar of the Gods. LOL.

I think the gang here and on Keep Walking's Thread over in Focus on Fitness are the bestest gang and we are ALL in this together. I feel so optimistic. We can beat this with each other's support.

I am so proud of you all. :h

HERE WE GO 30 DAYS AF IN JUNE

Good morning! I'm so inspired by so many of you who have DOUBLE DIGIT AF days! I am on day 7 and I have a plan for the evening to keep me busy and my mind occupied, so I am optimistic that today will be another AF day.

One of my "tools" is that I have started a journal. I am writing about all the positive things that I feel AF - and when the craving hits, I plan on reading it over and over again until the craving passes. I never felt this good with AL - but it is a deceptive poison that can trick the mind, so hopefully my notebook will help WHEN that craving sneaks up on me.

          Have a great June 2nd!

Hi everybody! Sounds like you all are doing great so far. I completed my day 1 AF and on to day 2! Distracted myself by going to see Jane Eyre last night and then came home and had milk and cookies!! I had trouble going to sleep last night but did eventually and I know that will get better. Have a great day everybody!

Thats AWESOME I too have replaced my beer drinking with milk and cookies, its my nightly reward for going AF. And a glass of milk and four cookies has a lot less calories than 10 beers.............LOL

HERE WE GO 30 DAYS AF IN JUNE

I love the idea of the journal Barbara. I am a big fan of Rhonda Byrne's "Secret", both the movie and the book. It helped me immensely earlier this year and I need to get back into it. I started a vision book and one of the sections is a gratitude list where I write down anything and everything I am grateful for...from my loving husband to the gift of birdsong. When you live in gratitude, you feel happier and bring good things into your life. I think your quote about Thoughts Become Things so Choose the Good Ones comes from The Secret, doesn't it?

Lots of great vibes on this thread...I think it will be a great month for all of us!

:thanks: Tips, by the way I know i shouldnt but I have already thought ahead to friday night!! For me it usually means get home from work and dive into my well deserved wine to celebrate the end of a week! What utter rubbbish! I realised what I needed was a challenge on saturday morning so that I would be really keen to wake up daisy fresh, perky and ready to go, so I have challenged my friend to a 7.30 a.m walk up a local fell, which is really steep and will burnlots of calories, of course we are very competietive so will move at a good pace and already I am looking forward to a good early night on friday so I am ready for the challenge the next day! The thought of rising early and gettting out there without wine swilling around in my liver is invigorating!! Whats your challenge for saturday morning???

HERE WE GO 30 DAYS AF IN JUNE

Way to go on Saturday a.m. Keep Walking.

You will have to follow through with your AF evening on Friday since the walking buddy-gal will definitely have the upper hand on your walk if you don't. I will have to be cheering you up and down the fells from my armchair here in Canada. Excellent point KeepWalking on making a plan... I probably have wine drinking, beer guzzling friends dropping in to the cottage as we have a hot tub and are known as party central... but thanks to your suggestion, I may ask Hubby to take me out to dinner.. we never did get out to dinner this week. Out of my environment I should do better especially since we will be eating Asian food which I find doesn't go good with wine. A real challenge that all of us here will be facing is what to say to the drink pushers. I have a female friend who drinks more wine than me and when she's here if I drink water she is all over me. I have had to tell her recently to please live and let live. She pouted a bit but got over it quickly.

When sober did you ever notice the faces and body language of your drunk friends? I also see it in me when someone snaps a photo of me, wine glass in hand, three sheets to the wind. Drunk and Ugly with a capital U.

Actually I am a little scared as Friday nights are just about the hardest time for me. Thanks for bringing that up KW; I will have to make a plan.

HERE WE GO 30 DAYS AF IN JUNE

Walking on the fells - at 7:30, sounds like bliss! and something we would never do if hungover - the joys of being AF! Oh to count the joys - and movies in the evenings - I would find so many excuses so I could be home with all my wine!
The more we can tell ourselves of what we can achieve being AF, the more we will enjoy!
Day 5 today - feeling ok - reading in bed at night instead of collapsing as soon as I had drunk enough - I love reading at night. And going to coast for a walk on the beach tomorrow as long as the next storm hangs off - supposed to come around 5pm - we are still 20 degrees below normal, so ready for some sun!
Congrats all for the succeses that are growing!:l

Morning everybody! Just checking in - 18 days today!
Can feel those 'old drinking thinking thoughts' creeping in this past few days, but I will not give in. I keep coming back here and reading old and new posts. There is always another inspirational story to be found. My children are complaining because I have spent this morning on the laptop and not outside sunathing[I think its really because they want to go on facebook].
I consider the time I spend on here absolutely crucial to me staying al-free. It is time out of my day that is necessary........compare that to the wasted nights and ensuing days 'given' to alcohol!
Every success story and every failure story has a place on here and really does help. We are aiming for 'success' for us all! Good luck to you all this weekend:h
