      Hi all!

Ruby-You're a gal after my own heart with the penny pinching gardening ways...I, too, have obtained flowers through sources of roadside, neighbors yard (after dark...only if there was an abundance, ok?), clearance...in fact, just yesterday on my lunch break, I went to our local hardware store where they have flowers in the front for not bad prices, and they had a neglected 6 pack of junny jump ups...I got them cheap and picked through the dead leaves and look good as new! I couldn't leave them there as they probably would have died...as hardy as that little flower is. I scour the sales and try to get the most bang for my buck. I planted peonies yesterday, a deep pink one and a white one, from the bare root...cheaper that way. They are one of my favorite cut flowers and I can't wait to see them bloom. Not sure if they will the first year so maybe next but that's ok, as long as I know they are coming. You are an inspiration with starting from nothing, building up the soil and ending up with photos that should be in Home and Garden! Love it! Also, it gets me thinking that maybe hubs and I should start looking for a little cabin in Maine that we could escape to where it's peaceful and we could have some privacy and "a greeter" that won't be stolen!

Hill, I can sympathize on the neighbor's dog issue. While we don't live next to a rottweiler, we live next to a family that has a pomeranian named Pickles and also a german shepherd. The shepherd is fine but the pom barks incessantly and even though I love animals and he is a cute little puffball, they don't control his barking and I can't sit at my favorite breakfast nook and enjoy a cup of coffee and read while he is barking right in my ear and they don't stop him! Enough is enough. A fence won't fix that but just thought I'd share my neighborly dog woes. Our dog barks but as soon as she does, we tend to her to stop, as I know how irritating it is to everyone else!

Scottish-I spoke about your Vegas trip in the Newbies Nest. Stay strong my friend and well done on getting to this point in your AF days.

Today is day 6...there goes Pickles again. Now he's getting my dog to bark to I gotta get her in and feed the troops breakie (2 cats, 1 dog). Geez, gotta be at work by 9AM and it's 8:08 so better get moving. Work is only 15 minutes away via my own 2 legs so the commute is pretty easy.

      Cheers everyone! Happy Tuesday!:goodjob:

Hill, I missed the part about the fence and dog. I've owned Rottweilers for 20 years and consider them an extremely wonderful breed, but not everyone should own one. I'd rather have to be licensed and registered to own one than to see what has happened with indescriminate breeding and owners.
You sais 'our flimsy wire fence.' Does this mean they have their dog unsecured? What are your local leash laws? Aren't THEY required to restrain their dog? In most places, even one complaint against a dog like that classifies them as dangerous dogs and the owners have to face tougher restrictions. Have you mentioned your concerns to the neighbor? I care too much about my dogs to expose them to the possibility, because I'm completely aware of what they are capable off. Your neighbor is a very irresponsible dog owner to allow the dog to harass you as it does. As for it acting as though it doesn't know you, that's a trait of the breed. If you can find out the dog's name, try , in a firm, calm, voice, calling out '----, NO! Sit!' Sometimes it works. Never raise your hands above your head or make any motions as though you might slap at it. That enrages them, as does staring at them. I'm so sorry you have a bad neighbor, for both you and the dog.

                  Geez louiz Ruby!
That must have stung & itched! I hate those little buggers. I had a yellow jackets nest in the wall of my tree house in Colo yrs ago. Got stung about 10 times once. Got really sick. Had to have a bee killer come & extract them.
                  They're NOT nice guests...

I apologize, I'm off to help a friend w/some chores today, .. will have to catch up with everybody later.
Hope yer all having a great day.
                  Will be thinking of you...:l
                  Till later...

Morning all. I'm OK today. Had a doc appt but cancelled it. I've NEVER had a reaction like that before. Last year had 2 stings on the HEAD and nothing like this. It still hurts, but I'm more determined than ever to get rid of all stinging things. G'son Jack is allergic to almost every sting, has to carry an epi-pen, so he's more important than a bit of discomfort to me.
I went to grocery and $ Store, and Hubs made some errand runs. We both came home with TWO cans each of the wasp spray! :H
Jude, I stepped in a yellow jacket nest when I was about that age. That are sticky little bitches!! Stung all over. Daddy went down there and pour gasoline on the hole, then set it all on fire. He HATED anything hurting us.
Time to get my house in order. Two tenants to evict (I know the drill!) so must start the paperwork. Hate to do it, but when there is NO effort made, and it goes on and on, and they start really breaking the rules, it's time.

Good morning, family! Rushed for time this morning, but read back on everybody's post. Ruby, glad you are feeling better. You definetly are alergic to wasp or whatever stung you! Paul swells up like that and sometimes, has to go to doctor. We had such a gentle, well needed, rain yesterday, so I've got so much in the garden to gather! Cucumbers, squash and tomatoes are coming in. Gotta pick and put up today. MB, I'm sorry our chat was so quick. I know you stay busy all the time! I hope Bret was ablwe to talk with an attorney that can help ya'll! Blonde, my daughter was married at the reservoir in Jackson, MS. She wanted a beach wedding, but settled on this. That is my son, who is 27 and my daughter-in-law, my daughter, who is 25 and my new son-in-law and me and hubby, Paul. I am the one wearing the pink dress. Horrible picture, as the wind was blowing us away that day! I will check back in later after my choirs are done! I love you all and hope everyone has a GREAT day! Love, Vicki
I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!

Hotter than heck here today! I survived the trek to the mall with mom...the poor thing really needed to get out of the house and it's too darned hot to take her walking outside.

This thread is pretty quiet today...Sun, I imagine you're picking up your mum- how exciting!

Vick, I wish I had a garden like yours!

Rubes, why is that Sadie sleeping on your Rottie? :H

Rog, I hope your day is going well and the truck is cooperating.

Judie, I hope you had a good day doing chores.

I am home after a long day.
Had a doctor appt yesterday and we decided to wean me off one medication and put me on another.I felt like a total zombie today and now am pooped b/c of the extra concentration and effort I had to put forth.
Bret is talking to an attorney and things look better, but the bastards still have all my money.
Everyone sounds happy. Ruby, watch that hand OK??
Fen..take care of your mom, and Rog, sorry truck is pissing you off.
It's nice to see new family members here and eventually I will greet everyone personally.
Love to my Vicki and Sunni

OH! How I wish I could have you all around my supper table tonight. Real old-fashion Southern meal, and Hubs will stuff himself. But it would make my suffering friends here happy for a little while.
Fen, I certainly know you're having a rough time, and I've been there. Tiring. But you will appreciate this time one day, even more than now. You're a good daughter.
MB, it sounds like you may have a grain of hope over this. I hope so.IRS charges are so nebulous, and having a good attorney to watch them is essential.
I'm really whupped again this day. Grands, pool duty, cooking, shopping, You know, the usual stuff. I can't believe how much my swimming girls DO eat when they come. They raid the fridge, sometimes want leftovers, and I ALWAYS keep popsicles . They eat them like mad, sometimes a dozen a day. I look for Italian Ice popsicles, since they love them. Yeah, I know, I'm a rotten granny! :H

So, eventually she got here - pooped but happy! Will post tomorrow.
