Rubes, I can't believe there's somebody else who calls a toilet "terlet". :H
Yah, some people know the EXACT moment to call, don't they? I don't conduct phone conversations from the terlet, however. Some things just need to remain private. :H

Hi Gang!
Day 8 for me...feeling good despite a slight headache out of the blue this morning. At least I know it is a sign from my body about something else wrong other than a hangover I inflicted on myself
SickofBeingSick & Ruby: Here I will attempt to post some pics of my dog...these were taken this time last year at our post wedding party. We hosted a tropical luau and shrimp boil in our back yard, complete with a live steel drum player et all. We had gotten married that January in Jamaica, so most of our friends and family couldn't make it to the wedding, but we had quite the bash in our backyard last June and it was a blast! Not sure if our little dog liked all the crowds but she was the center of attention most of the day! Pictures are attached to this post.
Still on the subject of pets, Fennel...I have 2 black kitties that I refer to as our "Desperate Housecats" as they are strickly indoor kitties and have no desire to go outside and since we live on a busy street, that works out just fine. I do have one that does the whine at the bathroom door trick...if the bathroom door is closed from the outside, she scratches and "chirps" to come in. Yes, folks, I have a "chirper"...does anyone else cat chirp instead of meow? Then in the door from the inside is closed and she is in the bathroom with me, I have to open it to let her out. So it can't be left closed in other words and there goes privacy's sake. Good thing it is just me and hubby!
Turning out to be another sunny day here although earlier it looked like ran so I cancelled beach plans with my mother since they said we were going to have thunderstrorms. We both have Thursdays off and try to do something together that day every so often. It's ok though as I have lots to do around the house before I head into my 5 straight days of working again.
Hubs and I are looking at a house tonight. Can't believe we are doing that but out of the blue hubs said that he was talking to a realtor friend at work and she said now is the best time to sell, so it got the wheels spinning in our heads that maybe now is the time to look? We have a one bedroom condo now and are looking to upgrade to our own single family house. Found an adorable one in town that is steps away from the ocean...not on the ocean but really really close. And on a quiet side street so we could get off the main drag where we are now (we are on a route to the hospital...so imagine how noisy that is!). We do love our little place but if I could get the privacy of a single family home and get out of a condo setting, I would prefer that. However, we are broke and I don't see how we could even think of going through financing and a move and selling the condo over the course of the summer but it's always fun to house shop, right? Here is the cute little house we are seeing...yeah, I know it's small but you gotta start somewhere, right? And the setting, so close to the harbor and beach, is my favorite part of town. We are young, in our 30's and this would be a great starter home and still and upgrade from our condo. Here is the realtor.com link if anyone wants to see it...however humble it is. Hubs not keen on the pink color but there is always paint I say! What's wrong with pink anyway:H
11 Bond St Gloucester MA - Home For Sale and Real Estate Listing - MLS #71222930 - Realtor.com?
Love the cute kitchen with wood stove. Did a drive by last night and was ballsy enough to peek in the windows...no one is living there right now so I didn't see the harm in that.
I hope you are all well...Barbara, nice to see you on this thread as well as on Newbies Nest. Nice to spread our wings a bit :l
Hill-thanks for your thoughts about hubs root canal...he felt much better yesterday and is tired but doing fine. He is working long hours and never got down time after the root canal...went straight back to work at the hospital in fact...and then to the gym afterwards! Tough as nails I say...
Have a great day everyone. Thanks Fen...yeah, she is such a ham (Coco). I don't know what we'd do without her. Before Coco, who is about 30 pounds now (was starved when we first adopted her several years ago, not now!) we had a St. Bernard, about 130 pounds, ahem...on the small side for a Saint. I do love the giant breeds and dream of having a Newfie one day, but we just don't have the room. And if we get that little dollhouse...we really won't have the room...hahahaha. But I do love having a mid-size dog to take on rides and she is really energetic and easy to walk...until we enounter another dog on the street and then all hell breaks loose. Good with other peeps, not good with other dogs.
Yeah, I love living in an oceanside community. Lived near the water all my life except in my early 20's when I was married to a psycho and he wanted to live in the woods as far away from people and all of my friends as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love the woods and mountains too, but I am a beach girl at heart and really missed being able to see the ocean everyday. I think I was a mermaid in a past life! I'll keep you all posted on the house hunt. Any advice on some questions to ask about the property that may be red flags? There are some veteran property owners here so I'm gonna ask some questions! We are young and inexperienced when it comes to house shopping and making deals or getting financing!
Cheers all!Whatever you invest in the circle of LIFE is what comes back to you. Multiplied. What you give to people is what they eventually give back to you. Don't do the math. Just increase your LOVE.

Love to wake up to such an inspiring post, Ruby! Thank you! Can we PLEASE make that same deal in 2 months, after my garden comes in? Usually, after I get it all put up, I lay around in the pool the rest of the summer, being absolutely worthless! I'll send you Paul's salsa recipe. It is the best salsa me or my family have ever tasted! What an inviting and wonderful invitation for Grateful! I have not forgotten about the ginger, but Paul says it won't live. I need to google "HOW TO TRANSPLANT IT". Did you get my email? Roger, I am so sorry about your truck! I hope it can be fixed and not cost too much! I am excited about you having a new job and helping you out financially! This could be answered prayer! Fennel, so happy you are back home and no hail damage! How sweet that your cat missed you! Barbara, welcome and we hope to see you around here regularly! Sunshine, so glad you are enjoying your Mom's visit and I pray the weather cools off for you! MB, you are definetly not mean, just tired and overworked! You really do need a vacation! Are you going to be able to go to Ruby's cabin in June, or has the date been reset, Rubes? Tony, hope you are doing okay and if you find the time, update us on what's going on with you. Blonde, CONGRATULATIONS on 8 days! Things will get much easier the more AF time you get! Your backyard wedding luau sounds wonderful! I don't think I could give up a condo on the beach! I LOVE THE OCEAN! If you go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket, it is alot easier to post your pics! Your doggie is so cute! So glad your hubby did well after the root canal!
Well, we have had rain 3 days in a row (Thank the Lord!) and my cucumbers and squash are getting way too big. I had to skip a day or two, because the garden was so muddy! Today, I'm putting up squash and more turnip greens. Does anyone know if I put my cucmbers in the fridge today, will they still be crisp next weekend, when we go to Moma's for Father's Day? I grew these particualrly for her to make her famous pickles! I hope everyone has a GREAT day! I love you all so much! Vicki :l:l:lI'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. Hi Everyone,
Thank you, Ruby for inviting me. I have been posting quite a bit on other threads, but in a nutshell, I'm on day 19 AF and feeling really happy, and for the most part very upbeat. The only problem is that I am really run down as far as my energy. I have to really struggle to get anything done, I am sort of worried although many people have told me this is "normal".
The problem is that I have so much to do for work and I am falling behind because I don't have the energy or desire to keep up with my normal pace.
I started taking 5-hour ENERGY, and that doesn't even help. Someone told me this lasted for 6-8 weeks with her, and I don't have that kind of time to waste. Any suggestions????THOUGHTS become THINGS
choose the GOOD ones!
AF since 5/22/11 :boxer: Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.............

B-12, Barb. Because I have a heart problem, I was told I had to come in every day for a shot, but we finally settled on 500 MG 3 times a day. I also take fish oil and calcium (for osteoporosis) 3 times a day, plus a multivitamin. B-12 really boosts your energy, and if you can get a shot, it's a big energy lifter.
T, you are truly in deep do-do, aren't you? I'm SO sorry, but quit that stinkin' thinkin' about a'drinkin', Bubba. You and I both know it would cost you a lot more than a repair to the Dingo. I've lived with a Motor Man for almost 41 years, so I feel like I know a lot about engines, even though I NEVER get my hands greasy. Bent rods are BAD!
As far as your soul, no one could have a claim to it, love. You have a beautiful soul, and you will get through all this. It seems life just jumps up and Jap-Slaps you all the time, brother. Maybe it's time to think about changing your modus operandi for finding work, living your life, when you can get a regular paycheck. It would certainly relieve some of the pressure on you, even though I know how much you hate being regimented or confined to a time clock. It sure beats drinking, doesn't it? You are too smart, too important to everyone blessed to be in your life to give up the fight. Don't make me come down there, boy!!
Tony, you are ALWAYS such a lift to my spirits! Even though you DO run to raunchy, you're funny, man! I bet you'll be a hit with your co-workers when you find that perfect job, as long as you don't get canned for 'lack of sensitivity!'. (Hubs has to take a 'sensitivity awareness' class every 6 months. It doesn't take!!) So good to have you back more, love.
SOS, you and I can push each other to take better care of ourselves. We don't grow turnip greens till the fall. I sure wish I was close enough to share your surplus veggies, too. Can't wait to read Paul's salsa recipe. I get tired just reading your posts about putting up your stuff. All mine will probably start coming in like gangbusters in July. Figs, pears, apples, plums, veggies, etcetcetc...... Momma had strange names for things (she had a learning impairment, but was smart as a whip). She always made 'pear radish' :H, actually pear relish. It was delicious, and after she died, Aunt Nina made it for me. Now they're both gone, so I'm on my own this year. I have a real problem with my beautiful little canning jars walking off, probably getting thrown away by young'uns who don't reuse/recycle good jars. I had to promise Hubs I WON'T give everyone who visits a jar of my homemade stuff, since I think SIL DRINKS the BBQ sauce I make!sigpic

Roger, you better listen to Ruby! She is so right! You know this is nothing, compared to all you have been through! I'm about to call you. Hey, Tony! I've been right here, where you been? I'm doing good, staying sober and staying busy in my garden! Barbara, are you exercising? I'm sure you think you don't have time, but it really does give you energy, so does a B12 every morning. Quiting alcohol did not cause me to have a lack of energy, in fact, I felt better and better every day. Are you feeling depressed about not being able to drink? Ruby, did you get my email? ok, back to putting up turnips. I love you all so much! VickiI'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
