The Journey begins here so get YOUR ASSES IN GEAR!!!! for june

Goodmorning everyone, I hope that you are all doing well. Things are good here, the sun is shining, my fence is 3/4 built, and it looks sa-weet; exactly what I was hoping for. I had a late ball game last night, feeling a little pain in a lot of places.

Sunshine, it sounds like you are no stranger to the fence building, and you are right - putting the boards on is easy compared to the posts.
Ruby, I hope the deputy is tall and handsome. (I prefer pretty and tall)
Roger, sorry the guy gave you the run around. You must be very frustrated.

    Take care,

      Hi All!

Vick-That birthday cake sure looked SWEEEET! Sorry I missed it! Looks like Fen had most of it anyway, ha ha! My birthday is in August so I'll be hittin' you up for some cake then! I like vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting and if you were to throw some strawberries on top, I wouldn't be opposed!

ScottishLass-Ditto what RC recommends on Kudzu/Milk Thistle...Milk Thistle is the best liver tonic out there. Even a better restorative herb when paired with Dandelion. Kudzu is geared towards helping you fight the urges. So, if liver repair is your objective, I would stick with the Milk Thistle. I know this works from personal experience because last year I had a blood test during a daily drinking period in my life and my liver enzymes were slightly elavated (freaked me out and I was embarrassed since I knew it was my own doing!). So, eventually I stopped drinking for a 2 week period to detox and took Milk Thistle religiously. Had my liver bloodwork done again per my doc's request and I came out with normal levels. I believe the Milk Thistle really came to my rescue there. Plus, not drinking, of course. Our livers are the most resilient organs once we stop damaging them from AL toxicity. Even just 2 drinks a day will stay in your body for 4 or more hours and make your liver work overtime to get them out of your body! Our livers rock, quite simply stated! In addition to the Milk Thistle caps or a combo supplement for liver support that contains Milk Thistle/Dandelion Root, try to get your hands on some dried milk thistle seed (found in the bulk section of earthy crunchy natural food stores like the one I work at!), try getting a small bag and add some of your favorite spices to it and eat it as a snack. I also sprinkle some on salads. I grind it up first in a little coffee grinder I save for grinding spices and it really is quite nice and another boost for your liver. It's pretty inexpensive too! If you really want to detox your liver, there are specific cleanses you could try. There is a brand we carry called RenewLife, which offers easy cleanse kits and one is for the liver. There is an am pill and a pm pill and I believe it is for 2 weeks. I may give this a try soon, but right now I am on a raw food detox diet and don't want to add anything than my usual arsenal of supplements to the mix. RC-What do you think of the Raw Food diet? Do you have lots of customers asking about it? Seems to be the movement up here. I'm doing a raw, vegan diet and have been for a week or so. Feeling really energetic and "clean" inside...lol. Never was a big one for processed food or meat everyday, but the raw diet is taking it to another extreme. Chewing on some soaked oat groats as we speak for breakie...interesting. Quite good actually with some sliced banana, raisins and a dribble of raw agave syrup!
Vicki-for the lab who is anxious around Tstorms...welcome to my world. My doggie dreads thunderstorms and shakes something awful. RC recommened a very well know Dr. Bach Flower Remedy called "Rescue Remedy" which has a special formula for pets (alchohol free). It is amazing stuff and I take the human version for panick attacts and it just simply makes things better. The whole concept of flower essenses is pretty amazing cosmic stuff and I'm sure RC knows much more than I but it really works! Ruby, I will try a tight t-shirt next time for Coco. I've heard that it makes them feel safe. Definitely steer away from the tylenol!

TLRGS-That is not cool about the wage change. And that is a big difference, not just a dollar or 2! I wouldn't trust this person after pulling something like that. Sounds like he is taking advantage big time. What is wrong with people like that? It's just not fair.

Well, this turned out to be a novel! Hi to Hill, Sunshine, Daisy, Barb, Mish, Jude, Ruby, Vicki, (PS, my hubby loves his beer too and has a few before dinner. Sometimes more on the weekends. Sometimes it bothers me, most times it doesn't. I don't let it tempt me to drink again because AL affects me differently than him). Hi to everyone else, hope you have a great day!

I haven't heard a peep from the bad tenants since Hubs delivered a letter to them yest explaining a few facts of life. Will be inspecting the property Thursday PM. (I'll do inside, Hubs does outside.) Documenting, of course.
T, I'm sorry. The guy should have been up front with you about the pay when he first got there, not AFTER you started work. How long are you supposed to work for him? I'd suggest showing him what you got for about a week, and when he realizes he can't get ANYONE better than you, renegotiate. Maybe start with you need 16.50 to start, and negotiate down a bit it you have to. If you don't have it in writing, then keep records every day on your own. Is he paying you daily? Don't go too long without getting paid, OK?
Hill, I know you're proud of that fence! You'll have to post a picture for us, OK?
Blonde, you and RC can be our medicine women for sure! I have some knowledge that comes with age, always having a house full of children and dogs, and remedies I saw my pioneer Native American granny use. I'm astounded every day by people's just lack of common sense when it comes to medications.
MB, I worry about you working so hard. I hope you're getting paid hourly, not on salary! At least you know the powers that be have noticed all the changes you've made.
Fen, I bet you're still on a cake high, aren't you?? You'll never settle for acorns again!!!
Wish we would hear from some of our MIAs, how they're doing. Nora, Biz, so many others.
Oh, they brought the WRONG SIZE AC unit yesterday, after I arranged my whole day to be available for them. Now, it's hurry up and wait again. Tomorrow, though, I'm taking the day for me, going to my cousin's to pick blueberries. She has about a dozen huge bushes, and a big garden. She's certainly a success story; abandoned by her father, one of six children of my mother's youngest sister, brought up dependent on the rest of our family for any of the special things in life. Yet she is happily married, very involved in the community, has a son who went to Germany to play soccer. I'm very proud of her. All those children considered my Daddy the only real father they ever had, and my Momma the one to turn to when they were growing up.
Sorry, I ramble on, I know. Have a good day, all, please.

Well, every time I geet on to bitch, I read all your posts and decide you all have it so much worse, so I shouldn't complain! I've had some bad alcohol cravings lately. Partly to do with the fact that Paul hasn't been able to drink beer, because it makes BOTH of his elbows swell up with whatever that is, he can't get rid of, so he's been bringing home VODKA, my drink of choice! I'm so damn frustrated with him! It is so hard living with an alcoholic! I feel almost frustrated enough to really want a drink, but I'm NOT going to do that and get thrown down into that pit of hell and be sick for the next two days! Anyways, I made some fresh tomatoe juice for the first time today and it is so good! I have already drank 1/2 gallon of it! It's almost like I hear my rebellious self thinking I'm drinking something healthy and it taste better than his! Oh, well, just needed to vent! WHY are we all struggling right now? I love all of you and I am so sorry, Jan, for all that you are going through. I love you! Vicki
I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!

Vick, I'm SO proud of how far you've come!! Paul is probably a mix of proud, and worried, as you don't have to depend on him now to check on you like when you drank. And I KNOW he KNOWS what he's doing is wrong, but he's not willing or able to stop.
Fresh tomato juice sounds SO good!! I can't believe how far ahead of us your garden is. Hubs has REALLY gotten in to the garden, keeps coming home with more plants!! :H Hang in there girl. Vodka is not the answer for either one of you.

                          Evening all!

Busy day at work and glad to have my 2 days off lined up tomorrow and Thurs. Getting my hair cut tomorrow at a new place (haven't found a hairdresser I really like in a while so I've been letting my hair grow like a weed). Time to get a trim as I'm starting to look like too much of a hippie!

Sorry about the email woes RC, hope you get it all straightened out.

I'm heading into day 14 tomorrow. Hard to believe that exactly 2 weeks ago I was sitting here drinking wine and feeling hopeless. Luckily, I came here and it moved me to pour the rest of the wine out and then start a new sober life on June 2nd. Feeling really good about that these days. Lots of cravings during the witching hour in early evening but finding that eating when I'm hungry, drinking lots of water, and coming here is helping immensely! Thank you all for being there.

I hope the dark clouds lift for many of us on financial issues, work, etc. Let's keep our heads up and know we are all there for each other!

                          Night All!

I'm with you on God answering our prayers, Vicki. I've learned that sometimes the answer is an immediate 'Yes," sometimes it's "Not yet," and sometimes it's an outright "No." "No" doesn't mean that he's not answering, it's just that what we're asking for isn't good for us, or in accord with his will.

Yes, Vicki, I'm heartbroken, not just for myself, but for her. I keep thinking what it must have been like for her to find herself in strange surroundings, maybe surviving a night in the cold instead of safe and warm at home. Surely she was attacked and killed by crows...what must she have felt, thought? Has some child found her and taken her home? It's not knowing that's the hardest of all. Also, my friend Jacqui, has a little cockatiel whick was friends with my little girl. We had play dates for them...her little bird is so confused and sad. Jacqui brought her over for the first time yesterday and she was quite subdued.
I've put ads in the Community newspapers, put out fliers in letterboxes and shops, knocked doors, submitted ads on online lost and found sites and rung all the vets, to no avail.
I've been sure to keep myself busy. I'm micro organising everything again. OCD can be very useful in such times as these.

Ruby, that pool looks like such a wonderful magnet for all the swimmers you mentioned. The pics are wonderful.

Good morning everyone. Hope all is well. The Canucks have no choice, they need to win tonight! Well my fence is almost finito. Just a few little finishing touches to go. It is really nice to have the privacy, and to not have to worry about the dog next door. I have a ball game tonight, should be fun. My body is starting to hurt though - I think I have some muslces that are pulled that don't even have names.

Blonde, I love learning so much from you about supplements and natural foods, and our body. This is cool stuff! Nice work on your two weeks, congrats.
Rog, I hope that you did not ignite and blow up.

RC, hope you get things figured out. I am not sure how to contact the help desk, sorry.
Mama, sorry for your troubles, hang in there. I am sending you a hug.
Vicki, I have never had fresh tomatoe juice before. It must be lovely. Is it acidic, and hard on the belly?

                                Take care everyone,
