    Army Thread 12th June

    Good morning, Army

The poxfecking burglar alarm next door started howling away again just after 4.00 a.m. That prompted me to send the owner a text saying that they need to have it repaired or invest in a user manual. Next time I'll call them. The upside is that I found the escaped hamster and could return it to captivity. At least we no longer have to speculate about which cat seems to appear inappropriately smug & well-fed.

The downside is that I can't get back to sleep :upset:

Oh well, I guess I could go put the kettle on and have some coffee & buttermilk rusks.
    I'll do whatever it takes

I see your mood says "buzzed" - I didn't know herbal tea could cause that. Depends on which herb is in it, I guess

But is it good for dunking rusks, though? I find coffee to be ideal for that purpose. Or good old-fashioned Ceylon tea - strong & milky.

My great-grandfather was a POW on Ceylon, by the way. Way back in 1902, during the Anglo-Boer War. I still have his cut-throat razor and a snuff holder he carved from bone.

When will it be winter solstice? I mean, it's almost 7.00 a.m. And still dark. The days need to become longer.
