    For the very first time....

    I went to a function where the pressure is usuallly EXTREMELY high to have a drink - a company softball game and party at a hotel after. I had two diet cokes with lemon, talked and laughed with my collegues, then came home and had a tea party with my four year old. My collegues know that I do not drink anymore and not once did anyone offer me alcohol - if they were up at the bar they would ask "do you want a soda/juice/water?" I thought it was awesome. I cannot say that having a glass of wine did not look nice, and that I felt a twang of "why can't I have JUST ONE", but I know better. In fact, there were alot of people NOT drinking. Of course my boss won't come in to work this morning - he will have a case of the "beer flu" this morning, or maybe like usual, come in totally hungover and be nasty all day. Oh well - all that matters is that I stayed the course and feel good about it, right? Nine months on July 1st. Holy cow!

    Hope you are all well. X X O O

    :yougo::yougo::yougo: Waggers,

    Loving the 'beer flu'.

    Thank goodness my days of 'wine flu' are long gone.
    It could be worse, I could be filing.

      Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

                Good for you! I miss the days when I would go out and that would be the only time I would have a few glasses of wine. Then, it turned into numbing out pain from a love that didn't work out. I hate using it for that. I am glad you see you can have a good time without any alcohol. Keep it up!

                    Well done Waggy! (love your avatar by the way! I was a devoted Pee Wee watcher every Saturday monning for a LOOOONG time!)

                    What a great success story. I too used to think everyone drank like me. What a shocker to realize I was in a rather small minority. Vast majority were "normies" but there are always some non-drinkers too. I think part of this disease is perception.

                        Even better to have two parties in one day, I am sure it was nice to come home to your child for your little party.

                        Love this post.
