Gearing up for an AF July! Come join me!

    Hello Guys!

I was out of commission with my computer yesterday, but I'm back up and running today.

Allswell - I hate that voice as well. But it get's weaker and softer the more time goes by without listening to it! And I completely agree - it makes no sense when you think about it! Life is so much better, happier and healthier without AL - so why would we want to do anything to ourselves that makes it worse??

Drifty - GOOD JOB on 50 days!!! That's amazing. :goodjob:

Hope everyone has a wonderful AF Sunday!

Good Morning all! Back to day 2 for me but, really days are not important, health, happiness, and safety are what is important. I was never far from the wagon and I am so glad to be back on!

          Hi Jenny,

Glad to hear you jumped right back on. This is so tough isn't it? I never thought something simple could be so hard!

I know we will make it eventually - and I guess when I have a year or something under my belt AF I will really appreciate it for all the work it took to get there!

          Sharky??

I thought Sharky mentioned going on holiday on the last post. Hope everyone is accomplishing their goals for July whether AF or not. Have a lot going on and really enjoy taking it in with a clear head and no cobwebs.

Just checking in. Still AF. Had the voices last night, but they disappeared and I'm happy to wake up sober today.

Still sober. Day 52 starts in three minutes. I feel so free!
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I know I mentioned not counting days however today stuck in my mind because it's day 30. OK, not counting days anymore.

                      Hi guys!!

                      Alllswell - CONGRATULATIONS!! :goodjob::goodjob:

Everyone is doing so great on this thread!! I have been struggling since May after I logged in 43 days. I keep going back and forth with the modding thing. I know I can't do it, but that darn voice in my head just won't shut up!!

I have told myself that I can discuss it again with myself when I get to 100 days. That's a couple months off - I'm not even at 30 yet, so I am just going to put my head down and get there. I'm hoping by that point I will love my new AF life so much I'll never consider going back!!

I have to say, it feels so much better to be healthy and not hungover. I just want to stay that way forever. I love Monday's when I'm feeling good and clear headed.

Have a fantastic AF evening all!

Day 54 af here. One thing that I am doing to help me stay sober is to watch drunk/hangovers videos on yt. Yes I know they are sick, but it helps me to stay sober. I am so thankful to not have to worry about being drunk/hungover ever again.

                          Hey Drifty,

Great work on racking up the days. I think any activity that reinforces your goals is not sick but very worthwhile. I'm interested to find out how much the past 54 days have changed you, feel free to share.
In reading posts from people that finally "got it" it seems around the 3 to 4 month mark something happens where it suddenly really feels like alcohol is truly a thing of the past. I've been to 10 weeks last year, twelve weeks earlier this year, and currently on 5 weeks and really am working hard to get to four months and see if I can have that moment where AL is not on my back anymore. As they say, keep on keeping on!

Hello Guys - just logging in here.

Thanks for the reminder Allswell. I had 43 days earlier this year and blew it thinking I'd "just have one drink" when I was out one evening. I'm trying to get back on track but keep finding myself logging in 5 days and then slipping. I'm going to set 100 days as a goal with the hope that AL will become a distant memory by that point.

At 100 days treat yourself to a really good spanish guitar!

                                Thanks Alls!

I actually have a crappy spanish guitar I found laying around in an upstairs bedroom. I told myself if I can actually get a few notes together I will make the investment for a new one! So it's me and guitar for dummies! I also have to say it's trickier than it looks when I see people playing!
