Thanks for your kind words Inchy. Just wanted to clarify something I said the other night as I realised later on that I didn't chose my words very well and they could have been misinterpreted, though I think you understood what I meant. When I said I don't give a stuff how old you are or words to that effect, I meant that I consider your age to be completely irrelevant to your participation in this forum and that if you have a drink problem you should come here. I didn't mean I'm not interested. I'm not very good with words.

Oh, and I hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Good evening, Army

We're having a mopping-up operation tonight. After Sunday's lunch in honour of our HG and last night's dinner for my brother, there are plenty of LOs to get rid of. I'm glad of it - didn't particularly fancy the idea of making something tonight.

I think I'll go for comfort food: strong tea with lots of milk, toast with marmite and banana slices.

Soooooooooo... enough about me.

So you'd recommend banana and Marmite on toast, Tippers.

Meant to say earlier, EW, but our vet runs a scheme where if you pay ?120 up front you get the jabs and a consultation for the rest of the dog/cat's life.
Thank goodness we had the cash to do it 4 years ago as this years jabs were free so to speak.

Had an interesting conversation last time we went.

Me: I'd like to make an appointment for Black Bess' jabs on Saturday

Them: We only do emergency appointments on Saturday

Me:Oh, when did that happen?

Them: It's always been like that.............sighhhhhhhhhh

Me: Oh we've been coming to you for over 20 years and never been told it's emergency only on a Saturday

Them: Will 11.00am be all right.

Yes Mario-the news is usually pretty damn depressing, isn't it?
Waiting for some storms tonight. Monday's temp was 36, today 31. Going down to 21 or so tomorrow for a high.After the storms. And that's my weather report for the evening.

Me and Mrs Vet met through a Mother and Toddler group. We couldn't stand the rest of the other mothers so started a splinter group of about 5 of us.
