I?m sorry I don?t post right back, but it?s due to our time difference. I?m 8 to 10 hours ahead of you, depending on which part of the country you live in.
Let me start by saying a huge THANK YOU to all of you. To each and everyone of you who are so amazingly wonderful!! I owe you so much!! It was the first time in my life that I had the strength to admit to my weaknesses, to not feel ashamed and to finally be able to get it all out. This is a big step for me and one that I totally OWE to all of you.
Ringing, I believe that the relationship between a father and a daughter is a very important one. Lots have been written about how women, end up somehow in their lives, finding a spouse or a companion to their father?s image. It?s a very good thing you are reunited with your father. I might not know the whole story, but, just the fact that you?re there with each other, should at least make you feel good enough, in order to overcome the fact that you can?t be with him all the time. I would love to know more about you.
Thank you for asking about Minna. I have raised her with my lovely parents? help and she has turned out to be a very well balanced young lady. She?s now 14 and things have been kind of difficult lately, due to the simple fact of her being a teenager. Boy, that?s hard?!
I will call on you guys on the subject of ?mothering a teenager?, since a lot of you ladies here,have been through that and your opinion is very precious to me. Minna is a very good student and very good in athletics, since I made it a point to push her into that direction, mainly because of my fear that she might get involved in substances. I thought it would be good to help her love sports in general, instead, of hanging out and doing whatever. I kept her busy with Karate and dancing. I?m very proud of her and her performance so far. She?s recently got a first place in Greek Championship Games in Karate and all her instructors congratulated me on her character and her sports ability! Yeaah, I?m bragging right now. But, I do have A LOT of unresolved issues, since my drinking never went unnoticed by her..! She?s very angry at me and I don?t think she?ll ever forgive me about that? IT IS VERY HARD TO BE A PARENT AND AN ALCOHOLIC AT THE SAME TIME, WITHOUT HAVING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES. I?m trying????????..
