      I hope things work out, friends, but we all know when you're 84, everything is crucial. Just seems Hubs, dau, and I are the only ones watching. Everyone but me and Hubs are retired, and our kids, so I believe they should be making more effort. My son goes by several times weekly, daughter calls several times weekly, but MIL's other family doesn't seem to be involved unless something is wrong. I'm NOT tooting my horn. She has been really wonderful, since 1970, to me. My son and daughter adore her, and I owe her so much. But she needs people around her right now who she feels are closer than I am, I feel. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm the one she looks to, given the last few days. You know how you look back, what you would have, should have, done? That's what I'm dealing with right now. Hubs just called to say he had no idea when he would be home, so I'll call her again, let her know that so she doesn't wait for him. Lest you worry, he DOES know what I do, and truly appreciates it. He's a man's man. Can't figure out yet what he should do with her, his mother, but I'll help him. His dad, OH well, that's his issue!

            ruby i have known you for a long time and you are one strong lady...so just hang in there young lady and think positive things will work out ... and hey i have another interview for another company tomorro at 10.. havent haeard any from the first two today yet maybe next week ... brb

              Roger I am so happy for you--you might just want to interview your interviewers at this point! I have a question for you regarding ceiling fans--should they be spinning clockwise or counterclockwise in the summer?

                Rog, I'm glad FF is here too. You don't know when and what they're thinking. I know I was called back for a great job, at a lower position in 1978, then the one they hired didn't work out and they moved me right up. Telling my age, right? I was 2.
                Birdie, my next post was going to be about you and Swannie. I guessed your girls were keeping you so busy. Good to see you.

                  Really, really sorry that you are going thru this. I understand. My Mom is 83 years old and was acting the same way when I was up there a few months ago. Worried all of us. Then suddenly she started being better. Still not out dancing every night but better than she was. I hope that your MIL springs back from this too. :h

                  I will be back later. Just got home from work. My Father in Law is back in the hospital. His pacemaker has become dislodged. From his fall???? Anyway, we are trying to get more info. My hubby might have to fly back up there. So, trying to get a backup plan for babysitting my niece & nephew. They are scheduled to fly home on August 10. But, might have to change those tickets. Playing everything by ear right now.

                      RC - didn't even think about that option. Thank you. My niece (their mom) had told her mom (their Grandma) that because of Buddy's ears, it wouldn't be good to drive up the mountain to get there. So, if Scott does have to fly up to his Dad's, I could drive the kids to Vegas. His ears are much better. Thanks for reminding me. :h

                              Well I got the fan turned around--a bit precariously on the first one. Stool-cane for balance-tongs to grab the toggle--couldn't maneuver the second one though--had to go to the shed for the ladder. Drats.

                                Gosh Rubes - I am so sorry for all that you are going through - SO VERY hard for you. And you know not to worry about venting or talking to us all about it. I wish there was more that we could do for you - you know where I am if you need to talk. It must feel such a burden for you and not be be able to have the others understand - or maybe they do - it is sometimes that they don't want to see....... tough times

                                FF - it was so nice to see you here today - as you know, I love your sense of humour, and hope that things are better for you? Whenever I am in need of cheering up, I always look at your jokes - and you never fail me - guess it must be something to do with the British sense of humour - even if you are from Wales !!!!

                                RC - good to hear you sounding good although it must be hard with your dad too - I am so pleased you got to go and visit him when you did.

                                Nora - you sound as if you are gearing up for more hard times too - gosh, everyone seems to be going through it at the moment - Vicki, you with your hands - Grateful - it was so nice to see you posting too, but I laughed at Rc's comment about you after you had posted! I agreed with her - LOL!!

                                Rog - dear Rog - I am so pleased that you are at least going on interviews! That is a plus - it is at least a hopeful sign.

                                Tony - as ever our strange and wonderful Tony :H MB - good to see you here too - life really does seem to move so quickly - yes, we are so different looks wise it made me laugh when ruby said that she gets us confused!!!! I have never thought of me as petite though!!! Slim yes - petite no! Bird - busy as always! Good busy though!! Nice to hear from you.
