              Good Morning everyone!! FF - the only reason I was baby sitting Moses was that Ruby was getting too old anymore for baby sitting. And yes, I echo Ruby - it is lovely to have you here on our thread! I also agree that the AF is very hard too!!

              hey - how is everyone else - nice to see you all here - Ruby - glad that daughter and family are coming for a visit.

              Grateful - good morning! Still more heat for us - you too? I am hoping that is will break soon. This is just too miserable - even with the AC, when you have to go in and out of it - the dogs hate to have to go outside as well. Although yesterday Mags was out there and wouldn't come in!! I was wondering if the heat felt good on her bones. (hey, Ruby - there's a thought for you??). Grate - I was wondering if Vicki's hands were bad and she couldn't type? But that wouldn't explain not answering the phone though.. I am sure she is fine.

              Nora - just take it one day at a time - like Rog is doing. don't worry about what will come next. Just worry about today. Don't even worry - just live today. RC - that goes for you as well.

              Fen - where are you today? How did your mums tests go the other day? Hope they all went well....

              I need to start doing stuff and getting ready for work - closing shift today. Have a good one everyone and try and keep cool.

                Morning, all!

                Sun, I just called my mom...she doesn't know the results of her test yet. Of course, this is because she is too impatient to press "2" to speak with a nurse or whomever. She just says she couldn't get a hold of "anybody", and hangs up. Makes me crazy sometimes. I told her she must call the dr.'s office on Monday and find out. Gah!

                  Hey Sun and Fennel. I'm almost embarrassed to repeat this but it is kinda funny how they are set in their ways. I talked to my Dad last night. He is feeling better in that he hasn't fallen and can get up in the mornings without needing some leverage the last two mornings now. He has dutifully been taking the "stuff" as he calls it--are you ready?--in RUM! LOL Yep he's a down easterner. When I start to admonish him too much--he just says--ok dear--gotta go--love ya! GAH!!

                        Hey, everyone! I'm sorry that I have been MIA, been feeling kinda funk lately! I was buried pretty good in my hole and then Grateful reached out to me... she's so sweet, it is hard not to feel better after talking with her. I've read back and everyone sounds so good! Roger, I am so happy you are feeling better and staying so positive! Welcome, FF! So glad you survived your dentist appt! Sorry you are so far away. Melissa lives in Greece and she has problems with the time difference, too. In fact, she seems to be MIA, too! RC, you are sounding so good! I loved your baby pic and encouragement...so sweet! I was so moved by your video that I am going to watch that movie again! Ruby, I am so sorry about your MIL and praying she will recover. You sounded like a dentist with your post and I got so tickled over RC's comment! Nora, I am so sorry you have been going through so much lately and I will be praying for you, too. MB, did your tomatoe plant die? It's hard to grow them in a pot. Well, hubs made it 13 days now without drinking! He feels so much better and his gout is almost finally gone! I love you all so much and it is so good to see you all doing so well! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Love, Vicki

                          Afternoon check-in....Vicki, it was really nice talking with you, too. I'm glad you came out of that hole.
                          13 days for Paul!! That is awesome news - and an answer to prayer! Do you think he realizes that his gout is going away because he's not drinking? I am so happy for you - and him, too.

                          Sunny-I'm a little worried that Ruby is really gonna get you after that comment about the sun on her bones......glad to see you 2 back to your "old" tricks!!:H

                          Roger-I hope you get that job that you bid on.....at least it will be something, right? Like RC said, one foot in front of the other-then repeat-that goes for all of us.

                          Ruby-I'm glad your daughter and family are coming to see your mil/MawMaw. Her "name" reminds me of my kids' great-grandmother, Mamaw. She was the sweetest southern lady I had ever met...well, until I came here, of course!! Please keep us posted, okay? We really do care.

                          Fen-it is hard, I think, for older people to have to go thru listening to a long message about what # to push, etc. The company I work for actually has no voicemail...just me to take live messages!!

                            Hi everyone I am back and will have some news to post very soon. Rog good to hear you art toughing it out you will get there as RC said or someone one step at a time or one day at a time. Sunny thanks for the support and your to Greatful glad to see you post What is "gout" anyway???? sounds like something you get from a farm animal like a goat or somthing. Nora hope all is well with you and how is your child's ears? Vicky keep your head up God is watching and is sending his Graces upon you as you are a wonderful flower. Got to run to Mass now, tomorrow I have sit that stuipd open house again will check in then I am hoping that this sunday will be the last time I sit it as I know now I will never make any money and will loose everything that I put into it Makes me sick if it sold a while ago I would still have my home in Maryland but that is water over the damb.                               What a day! It was wonderful, though. (Had to take a nap when they all left, Sunni!) MIL seemed to love sitting on her couch, having g-grands running in and out, bringing things from the garden, sharing their 'discoveries'. She didn't even come outside, or over to the house when we grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, but we sent some over. She doesn't eat, though. This was the first time in a while that she had all my children and grands together in since Christmas.
                              We got a real kick out of the kids tin-can shooting with their bb guns. Daughter and SIL tried it, and NO one hit the cans but Jack, several times. He gets very focussed when he takes aim. We took the gator and went to pick a huge basket of pears for them to take home. I have an over-abundance of little 'golden pear' tomatoes, and since they'd never seen them, they ate them like candy. Oh, and Riley polished off an open jar of bread and butter pickles, then asked for some to take home, so they left loaded down with stuff.
                              Gracie just called and asked me to help her find homes for 3 MORE kittens (she says they're the most beautiful ever!) Just what I needed.
                              Even though I wouldn't recognize any of her music, it's so sad about Amy Winehouse's death at 27. So many had tried to help her, but she had a hit song about refusing to get help for her AL and drug addiction. It's such a pity to watch these 'celebrities' flame out on their success. Such a waste. And you can almost predict who it's going to happen to, unfortunately.
                              Anyhoo, great to see everyone, specially good to see you again Biz. Hope everyone had a good day, stayed cool. Catch ya'll on the flip side!
