    Friends Without Faces

I was jumping and skiping through the internet today, and you know how it is, sometimes you just come up with a load of rubbish, and then other times you find a little gem.

Well I found the following, and it expresses how I feel about this special place.......

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We can't help but wonder what all of this means
With mouse in hand....we roam through this maze,
On an infinite search....lost in a daze

We chat with each other, we type all our woes,
At times we'll band togetherto gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

Soon friendships are formed--but--why we don't know,
But some of these friendships will flourish and grow.
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes we'll flirt.
In IMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.

Why is it on screen, we are so easily bold,
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.
The answer is simple, it's as clear as a bell,
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.

We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must,
So we turn to our 'puters....and to those we can trust.
Even though it sounds crazy....the truth still remains,
Most of my " friends " have no faces....and odd little names.

That is so true....sometimes its so much easier to tell all of your intimate secrets/troubles to someone whom you have only just met..and from that can come the most fantastic friendships

              Baffled!

              Hello Louise,
Thank you so much for that. 99.9 % of our interchanges would never happen, if they had to happen "face to face". It is just too raw and painful. But here, fortunately, we can share, throw up, rant, rave, cry or simply reach out and ask for another human mind to touch our soul. We are all bleeding, hurting and wanting for help. We understand were we all come from. There is no judgement, only caring and a ready hand to pull us up from yet another stumble into the gutter.
I watched a TV show about people who cut themselve with razors or knifes. They are hurting and bleeding. I was appalled. It dawned on me that the booze is doing that to me internally. I am on a self-destructive path - but why would I do that, if I was appalled by the cutters I saw on TV. It is no different. Somebody - do you have any clues on this????
