I need to point something out here Mrs... Mr JC is not a Saint and he would not have hung in with you all those years if you didn't have some redeeming qualities. You're short changing yourself my dear. The way I see it is "Wow! She must be a smashing wife in other ways, for him to have hung in there like that." Ya know? :l
I think a lot of us (myself included) tend to almost define ourselves by our alcoholism. It overshadowed everythnig for a long time.

Thing is, we're not all that bad, are we? We just happened to become pissheads somewhere along the line, for whatever reasons.

Me too - obviously! They are just so cute and there are these little nuggets of wisdom tucked in here and there. Zen - I've been hinting at boyfriend about the Calvin and Hobbes Complete Collection set as a pressie. He doesn't pick up on subtlety at ALL so I may just tell his sister

Aww Reccy, you're right he's one in a million, in fact he's been that good today, he's getting to hold the channel changer. Mind you that's only while I'm out at Slimming World.

I usually take it with me.

And how's me favourite Pandaman, today.
LMAO at your taking the channel changer to Slimming World!!!

Had a mad panic this afternoon when I discovered that one of my home-based medicalish appointments was this afternooon and not tomorrow afternoon, so I had to race the 60 miles home from my mother's and then rush around madly trying to tidy the house up so that I wasn't totally ashamed of it. Still, at least I've actually accomplished something at home today.

                Good point! lol...

I'm off to read back myself, didn't see anything before page 9.

One last word on Casey Anthony... when the jury read their verdict she looked absolutely miserable. Pretty strange really, for someone that was looking at death or incarceration and suddenly had freedom. She didn't crack a smile till after.
Um, er, sorry to disagree but this video I found from NBC news shows her breaking down with each verdict that is read. I assume that it is with relief and disbelief that she was not found guilty of the charges of murder, manslaughter and child abuse.

Anthony found not guilty of murdering Caylee - US news - Crime & courts - msnbc.com

She should go to jail for not notifying the police, her parents and/or others that the little girl had gone missing. I'm not taking anyone's side here but you never know what kind of a life people are living and/or what they have gone through and what they are being subjected to on an everyday basis. A Mother's first priority should always be her child but some very young mothers who have huge psychological burdens, don't nurture and care for and love their babies the way they should simply because much of that was lacking during their own childhood. Again, not taking anyone's side but after reading many, many life stories here at MWO, I know that many children are not given the love, care and nurturing that they should be given.

Okay, enough from me. I'm a right downer tonight.

Off to plead with the Sleep Fairy.

Wishing you all, a great afternoon or evening, and hoping you all
