Where have you traveled?
Hi All,
I agree .........very interesting thread indeed! I am an American but currently live in Switzerland - BEAUTIFUL!! I have a perfect view of the Alps from my house. I have also lived in England and Ireland, and have to agree with a previous post (oops forgot who it was - sorry) about Western Ireland......really great scenery, but the winters there can be VERY long (and wet!!).
I have been to most of western Europe, the Seychelles, Thailand, Turkey, Greek Islands. Favorite places.....Santorini, Greece and the Seychelles.
Would love to visit Australia and the Scandinavian countries.
Oddly enough haven't ever been to New York City or California .......my Swiss friends find that hard to believe......seeing as I'm an American!! Never been to any of the US states west of the MS river except Texas!!

OH and i was meant to be in Ghana for christmas but when i turned up at the airport the airline could not find me on their computer system!!.
i am really BLOODY ANGRY!!
After a few phone calls i now know our travel agent did book us a flighg BUT IT WAS AT A DIFFERENT TIME!!, WHICH WE MISSED BECAUSE WE HAD COME BACK HOME BY THEN!.
This was no ordinary holiday either i was going to a small village in Ghana who had invited me and its going to take a while now to rearrange as i was meeting other people over their.
so their WHEN YOU GO ON HOLIDAY YOU COME BACK WITH STORIES AND WHEN YOU DONT YOU STILL HAVE STORIES .Anyway i'm sure i will still have a great time at home with my friends and family.
Wish you all a Merry Christmas

Where have you traveled?
I'm heading out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to spend a week snowboarding there. This will be my first trip out west. I've been all along the east coast and spend oodles of time in Canada seeing as I live right on the border. In fact, I spend all winter snowboarding at Searchmont (Ontario).
During the summer I do a lot of scuba diving (I work on a research boat in Lake Superior surverying shipwrecks) and windsurfing. I'd love to go to Thailand for the diving, surfing and the cuisine.

Where have you traveled?
Heeeeyyyy!!! before I start...hi to you whitestar...how's it going??? Nice to see you back on the page again!!!!
Hope you're healthy....
Haven't visited many places as always at the very end of a shoestring small enough for an ants sneaker...but after saving, have managed France, Switzerland, Australia, NZealand....I liked it so much I bought the company (as it were)...many places in England Scotland and Ireland, Tenerife (not the yucky bit...my mum and I rented a little house in the hills on the edge of teide (SP???????), Bali and Singapore.......good memories at Bali...we went to a Hindu temple in the sea at Tannah Lot (again...sp???), the tide was in, the sun was setting, and most of the tourists had gone home to moan about the price of cornettos on their rented balconies.........perfect!!
Would LOVE to go to Mumbai...must brush up on my Marathi first, vietnam, anchorage, and other places in Alaske (ever since hearing michelle shocked warble on about it) and Japan...my daughter has been there and was gobsmacked by the difference in lifestyles you can experience just by biffing about 10 minutes down the line on the bullet.........

Where have you traveled?
Where? That's a loaded question...
Good one though. Brings back a lot of great memories sitting here on a (another!)rainy day...
The Grande Canyon, I guess that was sort of the beginning of a lot of travelling for me... I worked there for a season when I was 19... (a few years back...) Did a lot of hiking, and was lucky enough to get to see it from a chopper, as the lodge I worked at gave the pilots a discount... so they were real nice about letting us hitch a ride when they had a few spare minutes. I actually got a private tour for free!
Since then, I've been back 4 times and been the length of it via raft/kayak on the Colorado river, from the bottom of the Canyon . Incredible way to see it!
Been all over the US... except New england & Alaska. That's still on my list.
Travelled thru Central America for 4 months once, down thru Mexico, Guatimala, Honduras, Costa Rica.
Spent 6 months on Kauii. I might still be there, if hadn't missed my cabin in Colorado so much...
Travelled in the South Pacific for a few months mostly on the island of Moorea, but also spent some time on Tahiti, & Raitaeh (SP?). not good memories...movin right along.
Travelled across part of Canada, when I was a kid & then again on the back of a Suzuki 700, back in 1980... that was a trip!!...That's a whole nother book! Went 3000 mi on the back of that piece of junk... highly over-rated "means of travel"!
Oh, almost forgot, Isla Mujers & Cosumel, Baja, The Yucatan
Oh, I've been tandem hang gliding 3 times! That was wayyy fun! I'd do that again in a heartbeat!:h
Do love travelling via the river.. hard to beat, sun & water, and downstream, with my doggie! The only thing worth stealing is a kiss...:flower: zwink:

Where have you traveled?
Speaking of rivers... the Rogue is wayyy up right now! There's a motor home just upstream from our house (about 2 mi), that is out on the gravel bar @ Lobster creek(where the gravel bar usually is)... All you can see is the top 2 feet of the motor home. Apparently whoever owns it, is out of the area, and the river has come up so much it's ready to wash it away!
I put my kayak in there all the time in the summer, well below where this motor home is! I can't believe the water's that high! The only thing worth stealing is a kiss...:flower: zwink:
