Did 17 Days in June and Miss the Feeling !!

I would like to try and join you. I will do my very best. The longest I have ever gone in many, many years is just 12 or 13 days, so I'm not sure I can do it, but I want to try. I've been following this board for a few months, as well as taking Topamax. I've found both to be incredibly helpful, and I am drinking a lot less. Some days not at all, down from my daily bottle (and sometimes more) of wine a day.

The thing is, the side effects from the Topamax (fatigue!) are pretty extreme. It makes me want to get on with this and just get sober! I don't want to put up with feeling so tired unless I can really pull off the real goal - to get my life back, plain and simple. So, I'm in! Scary, but I think I'm ready. Thank you for giving me a place to be accountable. I hope I can support you as well.

Morning All--I forgot one very important ingrediant! 1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder! What kind of dessert would it be without chocolate?? If you can get raw even better for nutritional value.

I'm in and amaze at how similar wine comes calling for us all. I've decided that my bouncing will be around 5:00 pm, as I can usually do this at work. Then make sure to have a light snack after, that will include protein. I really want to get back into shape and it does get harder after the golden age hits. 10 lbs poof! Wine certainly circumvents the motivation to exercise.

When the wine thoughts start mid day I would suggest really focusing on what you want to do at 5:00 and the rest of our evening.

COCOA Powder well of course. What would it be without chocolate...

I, too have ten pounds of booze sitting in my middle. Looks real cute when I wear my two piece bathing suit... LOL.

Bouncing at 5:00 pm is a great idea as it resets our goal and while we bounce we can repeat the mantra "I do not drink. I am a non-drinker." Boing, boing, boing.....

        Back to work now...

Morning! Everyone feeling good this morning!

Great plans all - I do feel a bit left out not having a mini-tramp, but I promise to jump up and down on my desk at 5:00 in solidarity.

LOL Coco! You are a trooper. I would love a photo of you jumping on your desk. Hey at least you won't have to go searching for boats, pools and mountains. Sounds relatively safe to me.

Oh man Nora, why didn't I think of that? So much more springy and spongy than a desk. (Except when I've been eating a lot of cake at work.)

Ha! The time I was trying to do 2 things at once (ALWAYS a HUGE mistake) and did a big bellyflop down a cliff? Bad scene. Panno had to come up the mountain and guide me back to the boat. SOOOO embarrassing...

Tipps- You did not let the Pinksters down at all. I'm really glad to see you came back and started posting again. We've missed you. I think it's important to stay to close to the boards no matter what. I think my slip 3 weeks ago would have turned into a full blown relapse had I not come back straight away. Stop over and say "hello" to the pinksters. it's not been the same without you.

Thanks, Sunnyside! I've got family coming from out of town tonight for a BBQ, which always have included lots of wine and beer in the past, so I picked kind of a hard day to start, but I think that's a good thing. Once I get through tonight, it will feel so good. Like I've seen you say, we can do it!

Irie, I love your quote "A wish changes nothing. A decision changes everything." Been spending too much time wishing to curb my drinking. Now I have made the DECISION to do it.

                            Fantastic.
