RIP Amy Whinehouse
I just saw that she was found dead this morning. Way too young to die. Don't know what she passed from but she had a horrible addiction probrem. Big reminder to all of us that this is serious stuff and life is too short. Hope you have found peace Amy.AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.

RIP Amy Whinehouse
I wasn't surprised to hear of her passing. Its a shame when a person gets rich and famous that some of them turn to drugs and/or alcohol. I read this photo gallery where there were some famous musicians and 3/4 of them died from drug/alcohol problems and 5 out of the 12 died from drug/alcohol issues at 27.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I am not surprised to hear this. Its a shame to hear about all these people who get rich and famous turn to drugs and/or alcohol. I read this photo gallery of 12 people who died at 27 (famous) and 5 out of the 12 died from drug/alcohol related problems (mainly overdose but 1 had cirrhosis at 27)
Here is the article if anyone wants to read it Photo Gallery on MSN Music .I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

RIP Amy Whinehouse
I guess I look at it like this. If I can become an addict and I am a regular person I can only imagine how much worse it can be for a rich and famous person. I can't even imagine the pressures and temptations that come along with fame and money. Kinda makes me feel grateful to be a "nobody" because I don't have my life under a microscope with everyone judging my every word and movements. I think it has to be easier to recover for us than them. Can you just imagine all the "yes" people enabling and even providing the drugs and alcohol for their addictions?AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.

RIP Amy Whinehouse
This is terrible news.
The music industry is a difficult one to be in if you are having a problem with booze/drugs, as often not only your social life, but your workplace is surrounded with it. People do and can say no, but you rock up to your gig, or recording session (your workplace), and in many circles, as long as you perform, people don't bat an eyelid. Many rock musicians are totally straight though, but many talented folk just seem to struggle with their own huge possibility.
Vale Amy.

Betty! Exactly what I have been saying to myself today. (Hope you're well by the way betty )
I was given a year and a half to live when I was about 23 by my doctor due to my drinking. I have just turned 31 and am 6 months sober now. I could easily have not been here. R.I.P

RIP Amy Whinehouse
Very very sad news.
What does RIP mean? What else can the dead do? Is it a Christian thing (if so I can maybe understand, but in that case why not say 'I hope you go to heaven' or similar - would you put RIP in a sympathy card to someone whose relative had just passed??)

I know first-hand from my best friend (who spent a night with her) that she was a lovely lovely person, but the main problem seemed (to him) to be her entourage...protecting her ostensibly for her own sake, but actually desperate to keep hold of her.
I believe that, and I believe the worst thing she ever did was stay around London, and Camden especially. It's a fascinating place, but you must beware (as I understand it, never taken them myself) that it is full of the worst fakes and phonies in London. A place where if you want to inject you are more likely to buy a bag of brick-dust than heroin. And she dwelt in that streetlife.
She embraced it, because she was just a person who wanted to connect with anyone who was 'real'. Unfortunately, if you're a mega-million rich superstar you need to try to get away from that...so sad.
I don't doubt the cause will be adulterated 'drugs', or even a drug overdose. But the truth will lie much deeper than that. It doesn't help the prohibition cause if contaminants are named publicly as the main cause.
Just as it doesn't put the gushing media who are ringing her praises tonight as someone who is an early lost 'legend' ala Hendrix et al in a very good light when we remind them that they've been playing her song 'Rehab' all through her troubles, without even a mention of what she was going through.
Sickening.I don't come here much anymore but you can always mail me at rotunda 2000 at hotmail dot com (no spaces). Might be able to help with Bac emergencies

RIP Amy Whinehouse
Hey Eight, RIP to me means I hope the persons soul finds peace in the afterlife. I'm not one personally who wants to "rest" for eternity. I certainly hope and believe we will all still find new challenges in the afterlife.AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.
