    Gear

NevaEva has posted (on the medical thread) that our Gearhead has passed away, May 31. I don't know how many of you know this sad news, or new him, but a loss of a young life (36) needs to be acknowledged. God bless his soul.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Sending my thoughts and prayers out.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I didn't know him, but I searched his posts when I first read about it on the other thread.
It was so sad, Ruby. I say this with a heavy heart because there were times I didn't think I would make it to my next birthday. I was so scared that AL would take me.

I pray for his family as it's always harder for the people left behind missing the person who they loved so much.
Let's all try not to take anything for granted and always tell the people we love how we feel. Try to be kind to one another and help when we can.

I just couldn't believe I'd missed this if posted earlier, but I stick pretty much to a few threads now. GH and I had had some contact, but i never really glimpsed the depth of his problem. Now he leaves children, an extended family behind, and the loss of SO much potential. I don't know any details, but every loss, here or in my life, pierces my heart, for the loss, the waste, the devastation of AL. This leaves heartbreak and questions for so many. All we can do now is learn and not repeat our mistakes, while we grieve for him. Another wonderful person allerted me to this, and I thank them.

This is so sad. I did not know gearhead but I did see some of his posts. When I first joined here I was mainly in the meds threads. That is where he seemed post most often. I took some time to read back thru his posts and he was just like all of us. He was struggling for anyway to quit drinking and get out of this hell. My prayers go out to his family.
AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.

Hi my name is Lori and i am so happy to be here.
