Oooh Ooohh Ooohh Isn't electricity wonderful!!!!
I just picked up the phone and rang Sandy at the newsagent across the road from Mr Rags. And she got me their LAST copy of the August Delicious!! She is nipping across the road as I type this to deliver it to him. How good is that of her to do that. I asked her to add it to the other magazines we get.
I will hopefully be able to do turmeric spuds tonight!

Rags;1157878 wrote: So have I. I gotta sort out a subscription soon! It's too far to the newsagent to justify me getting in the car to nip down and get one now so i can see what yer talking about. But Bridge, just quickly, what is the gist of the tumeric spuds? So I can do them for my photoshop teacher tonight?
Boil spuddies until just soft.
Drain.
Cool
Cube (bite sized)
Saute in fry pan mustard seeds (until they pop), then add ginger, garlic, curry powder, tumeric.
Cook off and add potatoes cook til crisp.
Top with Spring onions, salt pepper chilli.
....and a fried egg if you want.
Serve with nat yoghurt, naan mango chutney. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Missy,
What on earth was the report about? Two years is more than a bloody PhD! I bet you're glad it's finished. Is someone now going to sit with a red pencil and go through it?
Last week I read or saw that Wellington has more quality restaurants per sq. mile than anywhere else in the Universe. And people fly over there just for a weekend of feasting. Then get last plane out so they can go to work in Sydney on Monday. Wouldn't it be fun to be that bloody rich. A bit like the revived Cussons Soap ad on tv at the moment. (Which isn't working for me second time round.)
Ignore what Bridge said about points. If you can swim in the Tasman Sea in Autumn, you deserve to have a calorific splurge at the restaurant.
Ahh Bridge, Thanks. I'll nip upstairs check if I have mustard seeds. Bought some creamy potatoes at lunchtime for mashing, but they should be fine for this. Thanks again.
Hm maybe I should subscribe rather than get from newsagent. But it keeps them inna job.

Got it! Have been in Delicious land for the last 30 minutes waiting for lappie. So many soups to try, and hopefully enough cold days left....like your spuddies Bridge but the lamb kofta meatballs in curry sauce on p84 look good. Dinner is now a quiche and the Thai chicken noodle soup on p82, stuff it...

Tawn, Tah too.
Never heard of supermarket deals. Hang on a sec and I'll google it.
Bridge, I've just copied that recipe into the Undies recipes that I said I'd do this week and haven;t yet. Nor will I get it done tomorrow as I'm meeting RFS guys tomorrow at Wingello. They are going to chop down pine trees (escapees from the state forest) and organize hazard reduction burns. Then in to Bowral to organise blue metal and a few cubic metres of veg and native soil.

What can I say? I feel positively deprived. As I've mentioned before: we're still watching the 1st series of MC Oz in Saffaland. The cubs are still hoping that Callum will win. Mrs. T has a soft spot for Alvin. I'm sure I could have Googled the outcome, but that would spoil it completely. The fat guy judge just spoils my appetite when I have to see him eating...
We also don't have Delicious magazine, obviously :upset::upset::upset:I'll do whatever it takes
