Help me out here, guys ... whenever I try to listen to someone's youtubes, I get about 3 or 4 seconds of sound and then the little wheel goes round and around and then I get another 3 or 4 seconds .... it takes me FOREVER to listen to a whole song and I must admit, I lose interest. What am I doing wrong?

Froglet - mostly I start watching a youtube and then SOMEONE yells MUM and its all over redrover...and then I forget the next time I am on....always playing catch up....

You need a faster internet connection.

The little spinning wheel thingy means it is buffering the data because it cannot stream it to your PC (or iMac) fast enough for it to be uninterrupted.

You did nothing wrong this time round, unless you have other bandwidth-intensive apps running at the same time. Skyping with voice AND video, perchance? Treating the Chook Forum with a live feed from the Chookhouse?

Ongoing journey learning the fine art, and getting it through me thick head i hope. Can't actually wait till i'm 80 ish. Should have some hot licks by then i'd reckon. (Will have to invite you to lay down a couple of tracks down the track when the planets align).

I hope you can, no, will, squeeze in some time for that bass (you) over this weekend.

Some thoughts:

Many here probably don't give a stuff about other's to a degree, as they're on their own challenging journey's. That's my impression, and let's be honest. But that's cool, and understandable (or is it?). However, there is great power in a simple 'how are you going?' e.g. (need help? ok. try this....how are you? What are you up to? How was your day? Your day sounds difficult, how are you now?) So, my humble point is, let's encourage the good vibe 'asking how folk are' vibe going round here. What do youse reckon?

No response expected, as most of us are self absorbed. WTF?! and that's cool too.

Gster, I agree with you.

I know in my not so long ago journey as a newbie every post and response was monumental. This site sometimes feels like a city. You find your neighborhood and that's where you spend most of your time, with a few other favorite stops. I do think it is important for myself to see who is newly posting from time to time and just say welcome. Even that is something more than nothing. I know even that is a small interaction to say hello and I am listening to you. It is a journey, and this is the thread where I feel like "home". Though venturing out and encouraging others in the space of mind I was not so long ago is important.

You are a caring and empathetic guy Mr. G, and I admire that!

Yep, just a simple 'hello', or response to a post can make a difference. Since i've been on this site, i've come to understand and see how important, and even lifesaving communication here can be. And lives have been saved here. I find it hard to believe.

It's definitely not hard to believe. This is a place many search out when they are in tough times mode. AL makes people feel so vulnerable, scared, worthless, suicidal, physically declined, among other things. Finding this site was like a godsend for myself. You just feel like you have to have AL as it is shattering your world apart. Coming here is wanting a way out. I think people that invest in this get something out of it. I remember Vintage girl posted awhile back and you responded, about Senior Members making positive influential comments for newbies that are posting. It is incredibly important to feel like someone id listening, to know someone is there, and to know that someone understands what you are going through because perhaps they have been there themselves.
AA did not work for me, my self discipline had distinguished it self, and I was heading for an early grave in a hurry if I did not find this place. I didn't know what I was looking for, but when I found this place, and the people in it, I can honestly say it has been life changing.
My promises are no longer broken.
My health has comeback tenfold.
My mind and personality have flourished.
I have friends I interact with daily that I care about.
I now have a future.

You're SO RIGHT in pointing out that it only takes one interaction or acknowledgement to make a difference. Since being here there are quite a few people I have PMed because I was following their progress/posts, or had interacted with them, and they disappeared, with no reply. I worry about what happened to them. It reminds me of all I can not take for granted.

Well. Your post has put tears in my eyes Sunny. Tear's of joy, hope, optimism, and truth.

And also an acknowledgement of how valuable, and lifesaving, and life affirming this joint really is. But it is true. We need to make an effort here to ask for support, but also to reach out and lend a hand, an encouraging word, and just a simple 'hello, how're you going?' is GOLD undies. Message? Reach out with a very simple not just 'hello', but.......importantly...'how are you REALLY going?' Get it? If you're moaning and and groaning, remember, it works both way's, non? Is this G man diatribe/verbage indisputable?........YES doodyhead! ('How are you REALLY going?')
