It's only about 14 inches long. My wooden spoon is longer. I was going to give Ruby some options for hubs.:HPsalms 119:45

Hello Wonderful Undies
I hope everyone is feeling really fit, happy and that all is well with your world. Hi Tawny, Miss B, Mr G, Happy, Lilly, Techie, Tips, Sunny, KTAB, Miss BBBJ, Reggie, Raggsie, Sapphie, Doggie Girl, Beags, Stirly Girl, Ruby Willow and Jackie Claire. Work Health here is under the Northern Territory Government (just applied for a jobbie with em - haven't heard back yet, but Gubberment takes a while), don't know about the other states though. I'm with you Miss B, I think Vegemite scrolls are made with a scone or bread dough mixture - couldn't imagine em being made with puff pastry! I have been a wee bit orf colour for a coupla days, so stayed home today. Didn't sleep last night (felt yuk), so slept in today and didn't go to work, feeling brighter now as I have slept most of today, so thought I'd check in and yep, check out all you Undies and Sundries to make sure you are all okay. Hey Tawny, loved the picture of the dog, bewdiful. I know what you mean about missing pets, it's always very hard. When we lost our Rottweiler we were devastated, had her for 14 years - she was so devoted and loyal. Ohh Mr G, Melbourne, Tawny you are so very generous - Packenham Upper, sounds fabulous. Well my Lovelies, think I may go back and have another LLD, stay well, be kind to yourselves and Love and Sunshine Always. Kaza xxToday, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day. ~Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr:l:l

Pookie and her hissed at each other a little but there has been no other barrelling into ,trying to kill like there was with our previous spoilt lovely kitty, RIP Garfield. She is now resting in the bathroom with a box and a little bed. He is prowling around sniffing the door and generally being curious not furious. Wish me luck undies et al...

Happy - relax. I figure once you're relaxed, they will be too. Um, that's what Dr. Hugh Worth says anyway. He actually tells people to take a valium and let the cats sort it out for themselves ...
Dog, I hate just responding to the last post without acknowledging everybody - Kaza - you're the ultimate joy germ today. Thank you and sorry you're feeling ordinary.
I really want to go out and put in another hour. Weather's been fanfusking today. ***vrooom***

Rags, I agree. But our government is dumber!!!
I was thinking this the other day because we almost always buy imported cheese (Dutch and Danish mainly) at the moment, because it is cheaper than the NZ stuff. (That's for "nice" cheese, but the lowest quality cheddar is about $10 a kilo. Given that I'm limiting my cheese intake, I'm treating myself to the nice stuff!). Similarly with bananas, which are the cheapest fruit here because we import them from Equador, while over the Tasman you cant afford them.
Zenstyle;1167298 wrote: Seems like that awfully nice looking Aussie bloke got it all wrong with the puff pastry on the Vegemite Scrolls vid. I'm thinking I have to have a bash at making them now. What about store bought pizza dough? Wotcha reckon Missy? Or maybe the scone mix.
Pizza dough might work actually. But once you make them, let it rest in a warm place to rise for a while, so that the yeast has time to warm up so that you get soft and squishy scrolls rather than hard and brittle ones!!! I presume that the store bought pizza dough, does actually have yeast in it??
And what do you mean scone "mix"?????????:H Zen, you have been living in the US for too long!!!! :H

This Lagarostrobos franklinii Spurtraveller is going on an overseas trip, never to return. The competition is to guess where it is going and to whom......
BTW Rags, have you complied your list of desired gifts for you house warming party??! A list at David Jones would be appropriate don't you think??

Took George for a clip and adopted a kitty....
Any advice on socialisation taken extremely SERIOUSLY!!
Poor wee thing having had babies already. I'm guessing she hasn't maybe been well looked after and is a bit scared??
We've now had quite a lot of experience at dealing with introducing a new scared cat or a new small kitten to our existing adopted ones. My observations:- It will depend on the cats - they all have their own personalities. One of our cats is very territorial and hates having new ones around. The other one is very mellow and just shrugs (in a feline sort of way!) and gets on with it. Some new cats will fit in with existing routines, while others want the world to revolve around them.
- One of our cats makes a point of disappearing for long lengths of time when we have a new one. It lasts about a week, before she realises that she had better get used to it. The other one just finds places to hide that the new kitten doesn't know about yet.
- Scared wee new cats need a bit of protection for a while (days, not weeks). We usually have a place where a new one can hang out without being hassled by the others, and visit it regularly, and give it lots of patting, human contact etc. Human contact is good as long as it isn't overwhelmed by it. But, like kids, it needs to be confident about being protected before it can engage in territorial disputes with any existing animals. But after that, let the animals sort it out themselves. We have kept a bit of a record about how quickly our cats have got completely used to another cat and stopped fighting and just getting along. The best cases have been about 4 weeks, but we had one very obstreptorous wee kitten who was very outgoing, and really loved to play with Wookie's (very fluffy!) tail. He hated it and Betty (territorial one) used to come to defend him. At eight weeks, they had reached a truce, but our ones were very happy when that kitten left to be adopted!!:H:H

Happy, it is totally fascinating, and your locusts may get a touch of self-reflection from it too!!!!
And actually, one of our neighbours (who is animal-allergic) has commented on how her boys have learned to look after small things having fed and watered some of our cats and kittens when we have been away for long weekends.Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Having said that, I just trod on my beloved Betty-puss, who re-paid me by scratching my foot! My excuse was that the light was off and that I didn't have my glasses on. Her excuse is that she always sleeps in the entrance to the bath room at this time of night, and that I should have known better!!Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
