?I thought I'd begin by reading a sonnet by Shakespeare, but then I thought, why should I? He never reads any of mine.?

Geek, keep plugging at it. This didn't happen overnight, and it doesn't usually go away that easy either. I probably logged a year of 'Day 1's'. So have most of us. But it's getting back on the horse, my friend, that's half the battle.

Ruby thanks for your support. I just can't keep hurting my family with my selfish attitude and lies, yet I still carry on doing it! Crazy huh. But I am very determined this time to really give it a go. It's just I get to a week af and I feel great, and then I think to myself "hey, one drink won't harm me", and for some reason I belive that lie. Deep down I know I'm lying to myself, but tend to ignore my concenious. I will get there I'm sure. Thank you once again. X

        Hey Geekteeth,

All the very best, I am on my firstday today (defn not my first one) and you are right "one drink wont hurt" is the starter of a new spiral. The way I look at this time is "Alcohol is like the casino, It will win because of the strength that bottle has and you will submit to it- you can either drink and submit or give it up and submit" so might as well give up.
        Hang in there buddy.

        Thanks,

        Vijay

          Hi Geekteeth & vynan,

Giving in to the mind chatter is always a mistake!
Working up the commitment to no longer listen to that voice of addiction works! Revise your plans, use the great ideas in the Tool box.

I highly recommend the MWO Hypno CDs. They really helped me to change my thinking & keep my commitment.
