Army Thread 7th August
Afternoon folks,
fried egg with smoked salmon trimmings in lemon juice for breakfast, followed by a bowl of porridge with sultanas. I'm a bit wary of the sultanas now as I ate a whole bag of them the other day and discovered that they have certain undesirable side effects. :upset::upset::upset: They should come with a bloody health warning, I tell you!!!
Off to read back...

Starty - sorry to hear about your relationship problems. :l A lot of us blokes have difficulty talking about our feelings, myself included. I hesitate to suggest this on this forum, but maybe if you plied Mr Starty with a few glasses of wine or whatever (without overdoing it) , you might find him a bit more forthcoming. That was how my mother and I began to talk properly for the first time.
Best of luck with your interview on Friday. What's the job?
Congratulations on your 20k milestone tips. :good: Now what did I say to you about the skinny lattes last night?!!!
Hope you're feeling a little brighter now after your unfortunate mishap last week, ktabs.
Sorry to hear about your problems too, EW. I can't work out from your posts to what extent you've been drinking or when, but try and nip it in the bud as soon as you possibly can - you really don't want to put your job or health at risk do you? As for running away, I've often had the same idea, but I know deep down that my problems will follow me wherever I go and I'm sure that if you think hard about it you will come to realise that the same probably applies to you too.
Zenny - where are you? Please check in, even if it's just one line to say that you're ok. :l

Hey Reccie, JC, Inchy, Mario, Tipps, and everyone else I have missed.
Wow 20K posts - Tipps - congrats. So are you senior, senior, senior, senior member now? :H
I went out last Sat for a golf day with work - behaved beautifully at the event but when we went back to one of the guy's houses where everyone carried on drinking and playing Singstar - feeling left out I had a few lagers, bad but not terrible...in my usual fashion my Sunday afternoon I stood outside the store with a bottle of vodka in hand.... I stopped yesterday finally (tapering down) and left work before i got busted again on Thursday.
I'd ran out of my citalopram last Thursday and don't know if that triggered it ?

Hi Mario, Inchy, Jackie, EW, runner1 and anyone else I've missed.
EW, this is NOT good. I'm definitely not in a position to criticise anyone for drinking, but I am concerned about where this is heading. You've got yourself a decent job, which you seem to quite enjoy doing most of the time, and yet it sounds like you are knowingly going down a path that will ultimately lead to your losing your job. Think about the consequences - the effect it will have on your relationship, the effect it will have on your finances and your ability to provide for your new baby when he/she arrives, the effect on your self-esteem, the effect on your health, etc etc. The drink ISN'T worth it. Deal with it now, before it's too late. Said with the best of intentions.
