    MWO World Tour Part II-Piglet!

Actually red herring works as a clue but think fowl not fish. Oh, and four legs not fins! OK, I'll make it real easy for y'all and throw in some roses and mint! :H

Well, I'm guessing you're talking about Louisville, Kentucky and Wiki says this about the Kentucky Derby...

"The race is known in the United States as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports" or "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate duration, and is also called "The Run for the Roses"
for the blanket of roses draped over the winner."

    Wiki also says

"In addition to the race itself, a number of traditions play a large role in the Derby atmosphere. The Mint
Julep, an iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint and a sugar syrup is the traditional beverage of the race."

So I guess that covers the "four legs, not fins" you were talking about and in your original post you said that the place you were going to is famous for something shown in the photos that day so I'm guessing you meant the horses in the pictures you posted.

I don't know how the red herring works as a clue but the fowl part led me to KFC - again with some help from Wikipedi -

KFC, founded and also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky

And I assume that's the part we should steer clear of as you stated in your earlier post - it not being the most healthy thing to eat, however tasty it is.

And this info would agree with the second flight being about 1-1/2 hours - Flights from Atlanta, GA (ATL) to Louisville, KY (SDF) Non-stop flights: 6?8 per day, 1h 25m duration

So, am I right? Do I get my prize now?

Mind you Zennie-butt and Greeniearse guessed Kentucky before I did. But I
    got the Atlanta part right.

      MWO World Tour Part II-Piglet!

Hi Enja, thank you so very much. I just got into the thread this afternoon and it's been such a pleasure and a lift.

Your photography is wonderful and just 1st class. While some Chinatown's can lean toward touristy, yours is clean and functional. When I visited S.F. a while ago I wish you could have been my tour guide! Your pride in your city is obvious and with very good reason.

This has been such a treat.

Enja said they'd be back today. Giving the time difference I guess those of us in Europe will have to wait til tomorrow to see any pictures if she has time to post them.

Enja - wishing you a safe flight back. So looking forward to seeing more piccies.inkele:

As for the little outfits they are just brilliant.
I'm glad you're loving the pictures, KTAB I'm having a superfun time taking them! Thank you for the compliment --- no, I've never trained in photography/art, although in another lifetime, when I lived in the UK many years ago, I worked for a photographer who hired me even though I had zero experience or relevant qualifications! :H I'm actually now thinking about maybe taking a photography course and upgrading my little "point and shoot" camera as a result of photographing Piglet and Miss K's visit :h

Ah, I see I wasn't too clear in my description...I meant that the public are no longer able to stable horses/ride horses at the GGP stables, everybody is allowed to visit the police horses.

I wasted too many hours at the 4th Street Bar & Grill LOL. My two favorite eateries were Scoma's for seafood and Yank Sing for dim sum. Your journey with the stuffed critters brings back fond memories. Thank you so much for this tour!
Hi, techie, glad you're enjoying the tour (which will resume shortly!) How cool that you used to have an office here. I know the Marriott Moscone - aka The Jukebox :H - I was possibly up in The View (39th Floor) while you were in the 4th Street .... Scoma's and Yank Sing are still going strong.

Thats great, go for it Enja, it is something you obviously enjoy and you are very good at. I do know a little something about this subject.

Updated map on the way over the weekend folks I promise.

KFC fits but was not the clue I had in mind -- I was referring to the bourbon in the Mint Juleps with regard to what we should steer clear of "Red" was meant to be part of the clue.... the University of Louisville's basketball team are the (red) Cardinals!

Piglet, Miss K and I are back from Louisville although, sadly, I didn't have the opportunity to take them out and about as I'd originally hoped. The weather was nice for a couple of days but mostly it was rather cold and bleak....

This is not where I was staying :H

...although it was heartwarming to see signs of spring

I have no clue what type of eggs these are, they looked rather like chicken eggs to me but this was out in the woods - anyone have any ideas?

                      Back to San Francisco!

Continuing with our Golden Gate Park tour we visited Stow Lake where you can feed the ducks (and squirrels!) rent a pedalo or row boat, hire bikes, hike to the top of a waterfall and even get married in a Chinese pagoda!

There is some controversy at the moment regarding the Boathouse concession - for the past 60+ years the concession has been run by a local family but as of last year it was awarded to an out of state company - a civil lawsuit is due to begin soon...

The light was a bit tricky here but if you look at the top - where it starts getting a bit burnt out -you can just see the top of the waterfall

The wildlife is very clever, so the trash/recycle bins are designed with a special lever/lock so they don't get raided by racoons, etc.- lol
