I am willing to take Piglet and friend. I am in Wisconsin so I can introduce them back to the farm life JK, I live in Milwaukee not on a farm.

Just PM me with how to do handle the transport. Guess that means I will have to learn how to upload pics too.

      What, no-one wants Piglet?

Is it time for him to go home?

Actually, someone does want Piglet and Miss K so they won't be going home just yet. More adventures to come.

It's true! It's true! Piglet & Miss K will soon be on their way to more wonderful new adventures. :wd:

I've PM'd with the new host and I'll be packing the little guys' suitcase and sending them on their way by the middle of next week - I've asked for a few more days so that I can take P&MK to a few more places we hadn't got to yet.

I apologize for not posting anymore pics last week --- I've taken loads, just haven't gone through them and uploaded to Photobucket yet --- I'll be doing that right after catching up here and will try and get some up tonight, if not, tomorrow. :h

Thank you....I worry about giving TMI so try and keep it brief - sometimes more successfully than others. :H Being sober ROCKS!

                          MWO World Tour Part II-Piglet!

Hello again! Lots of catching up to do, so let's jump right in.....

Downtown...."Downtown" actually comprises of a few different areas - there's Union Square and the immediate surrounding area, which is the prime upmarket large retail and hotel location. Although just off Union Sq, to the southwest, is the Tenderloin.... an area best avoided - lots of drug dealing, prostitution, homeless shelters, etc. It's not too bad during the day but best avoided after dark - but a surprising number of very nice large hotels are right on the border. Moscone North, South and West are the HUGE convention halls and right next to them is Yerba Buena which is a mix of entertainment, (theaters, gardens, ice skating rink and bowling alley, children's art museum, playground, etc.), also MOMA and more hotels are dotted around here. Heading east and northeast is FiDi (the financial district) ending at the Embarcadero to the west, which is the area next to the bay. More to the north it morphs into Chinatown which turns into North Beach, which is our "Little Italy" and that in turn brings you to Fisherman's Wharf. OK, everybody thoroughly confuzzled now?

Yerba Buena bowling alley is the building on the right and the ice skating rink is the building on the left - I'm down here every week for a skating lesson - it was something I've always wanted to learn so have been taking lessons for a number of years - I'm still rubbish at it but adore my instructor and we have a good laugh. :H

The Zeum is an interactive art and technology museum for kids

The two tall buildings are hotels - the Marriott on the left and the Four Seasons on the right - not sure what the one on the far right is?

You can just see a glimpse of SFMOMA (SF Museum of Modern Art) here - it's the brick building with the white circle, designed by Mario Botta and it's a fabulous space.

A walkway connects this area to the gardens

Looking east - you can just see Moscone North and South halls on either side of the road (most of the space is actually underground) in the distance you can see a bit of the bay and Treasure Island

Looking in the opposite direction, the glass building on the right is Moscone West -- lots of roadworks always seem to be going on around here...

                            The gardens

St Patrick Catholic Church which I think was originally built in the late 1800s but rebuilt after the 1906 earthquake and fire.

The Hearst Building (of William Randolph Hearst fame) was home to the Examiner newspaper until the 1960s but is now just office space

Market Street - this is the same street that I showed you all the way out in the Mission District

MUNI (our public transit system) uses old streetcars from all around the world on this line
