One of the most interesting parts of our visit was the Butterfly House. The atmosphere was tropical and the butterflies and moths were not separated from the visitors at all:

The palace has it's own train:

Piglet at the Column of Victory, completed in 1730. It was very overcast and late by the time we made it over there:

Reccie - outstanding pictures. What a lovely area you live in. I would love to visit palaces like that. And the gardens and grounds are so lush and green. Lovely, just lovely. :goodjob:

Today Reccie took me to Oxford, mainly to visit Christ Church College. Reccie took a few pics with his mum's camera. He says he hasn't quite got the hang of it yet.

Christ Church was founded by Cardinal Wolsey in 1524.

This is The Great Hall which was replicated in film studios to create Hogwarts Hall. Many of the scenes in the Harry Potter films are shot in various locations around the college.

                              This is the Tom Quad.

It's named after the Tom Tower, which houses the bell, Great Tom. The bell tower was designed by former student Sir Christopher Wren.

Then we visited the cathedral, which is an integral part of Christ Church College.

The stained glass behind the altar was impressive.

                                These are the cloisters:

And this is the college library:
