    MWO World Tour Part II-Piglet!

Piglet, Miss K - I think it's about time we dropped by MWO and told the people about the lovely day we had. Well, it was lovely for me.

It was for us, too Auntie Stirly.

Yes it was. And such a nice start, having breakfast on the balcony. That feta cheese was good and so were the mandarin oranges but I really liked the cookie best.

Me too. I would have liked some choklit tho'.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Where did we go after breakfast?

To a new shopping complex near here called MacArthur Glen.

What a clever little guy you are to have remembered the name.

I remembered it to. Just that Piglet said it faster than me.

I know you did Miss K. Why don't you tell us a bit about it. Do you remember what I told you?

Yes - that it's built to make it look like you're walking through an older neighbourhood of Athens but the houses are really stores and they have balconies on the upper level.

That's right. How about we post a couple of pictures of the entrance to the complex. And you and Piglet can give the descriptions.

Here's the main entrance. There's a guide map to where the stores are and Miss K and I were sitting on it.

Yeah and there was that couple and their kid that kept looking at us and walking around us and I thought they were going to kidnap us. I was scared.

I know - I saw them too but I never would have let them touch you Miss K.

I wouldn't have let them touch you either.

Ah, what a brave Piglet you are. What else did you see at the entrance?

I liked the playground for the kids. It has a carousel, too.

And I liked the train carousel they had. I really wanted to ride on it.

I know Piglet, but it was only for kids.

They have lots of big planters with pretty flowers...

I see you got into that picture as well.

And there was this reallly old olive tree that they've planted in the middle with more flowers around it...

From the size of the trunk, I would say that it's hundreds of years old. Olive trees live up to two thousand years.

Two thousand years. That sounds very old.

Is that how old you are, Auntie Stirly.

    Um, not quite.

Okay kids, how about we post a few pictures of the store windows we saw today.

Yes, let's. I liked the store with the bright green tree in the window.

Me, too but I liked the pictures Auntie Stirly took of the walkways through the centre. Those buildings are really nice.

They are, aren't they Miss K. The architects who worked on this project did a bang-up job. Here are two photos of the upper and lower levels.

What did you see Miss K that you really liked?

Those pink girlie bags. I bet Oney's girls would really like them too.

Yes, but we musn't forget the ladies' handbags for Auntie JC.

Yes, Auntie Stirly, she would really like them.

We had a lovely time at McArthur Glen, didn't we?

      Yes, we did.

      I really enjoyed it.

But what was the part you enjoyed the most?

Piglet, Miss K - are you going to tell us what was the highlight of your day?

What's a highlight? Is it like one of those neon coloured pens that you mark books with?

No - it's the really big moment of your day. Something that happened that you weren't expecting.

Oh, oh - I know what you mean, Auntie Stirly.

Me, too. It was so exciting!! We got to meet.... Santa!!!

Indeed you did. And when I explained to him that we are members of a group from all over the world and that you, Piglet, had traveled from Paris to half-way around the world to Australia and New Zealand, then to the US and finally to Greece, Santa was so impressed that he asked me what our site name is. What was I to tell him? That it's an alkie site? Poor young man, he would have been gobsmacked. :H

Miss K - did you like what Aunty Stirly made us for breakfast?

Yes, the juice was yummy and I liked the porridge and with lots of brown sugar and raisins and cinnamon.

I don't like porridge even with raisins in it. I wanted some corn flakes. Choklit covered ones.:upset:

Oh, maybe she'll give us some for breakfast tomorrow. Anyway, Auntie Stirly said she's going to take us for a drive in a while. And she's letting us sit outside and play Nintendo til she's ready to go.

You're right, Miss K. This is fun.

Lots of room for everyone, JC. We're off for a quick visit to the sea.

Oney - it's a lovely day. Temperature around 20C at the moment. No complaints here, thats's for sure...

                          MWO World Tour Part II-Piglet!

So, my little furry friends, did you like our little trip down to the sea.

Yes, yes Auntie Stirly, it was lovely.

How about you, Miss K - did you like the scenery.

It's very pretty there. I wish it wasn't too cool for a swim today.

Well if you'd been back home in New Zealand, I bet you could have gone for a swim. But because it's winter her, even tho' it's a warm day, the sea is very cold.

Yes, but there were some people swimming.

They were, but they are people who swim almost every day, summer and winter and they're used to the water temperature. You're a wee girl and not used to it. I wouldn't want you to catch a chill seeing as you're going on a trip to your next destination soon.

I guess you're right, Auntie Stirly.

Piglet, you want to help tell the MWO folk about these pictures?

Sure, Auntie Stirly - this is a picture on the way down to the sea.

                          Miss K?

And this is the little church that overlooks the harbour. It's called St. Nicholas. Auntie Stirly says she likes this little church and drives by here often. Sometimes she and Uncle Stirly and Freddie walk down here on a nice day.

Auntie Stirly says she brought Tigger here and showed him this part of the coast, too. Here is the little marina right below the church. It is full of sail boats and small fishing boats in the summer. Not that many boats now that it's winter. The mountains in the background are on the island of Evia.

And here is the bay where the people were swimming. Auntie Stirly says she swims here lots of times and one year went swimming til the end of October but the water was brrrr-ey cold.

And this is looking north of the town. You can see some mountains that are far away.

So did you enjoy our little drive to the sea?

Yes and we hope the MWO members enjoy the pictures.

Me, too and I want some lunch, please.

Yes, I bet you're both hungry. How about we order in some souvlaki?

Souvlaki, Auntie Stirly? Isn't that made with pork?

They also make it with chicken. That's what I meant. Want to try some?

                          Okay.

I'm so hungry, I don't care what it's made from as long as it gets here ASAP.

Demanding little miss, aren't you now....

Thanks to all of you for your positive replies. I've really been enjoying this.

Zen - the sea is three minutes away on the north side of town and 5 minutes on the south. The beach we usually go to is further south - less than 10 minutes. There are lots of beaches in this area. A town about 15 to 20 minutes away has a beach that must be 2 kilometres long - sandy with no stones at all and shallow water so it's always warmer that some of the other beaches. Here's a pic of it from Google images -

ExPatty - glad you are enjoying the pictures. This is the great fun about these tours, that we get to "travel" to places we might not be able to. If you can manage it sometime in the future, I know you will love it. Haven't ever heard someone say they didn't like Greece.
