A great thing about being sober is...

Being able to do things at the spur of the moment.

    And its Drifty not Drafty.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I no longer fill up the local bottle bank singlehandedly :H

Oh and I don`t have to walk along with empty bottles clanking in my
bag for all to hear lol.

      Luv Flo x

Sorry Drifty, I sometimes have a draft running through my head!

is realizing that I do stupid things when I'm sober, too, not just when I'm drunk. I ran errands all day Saturday with two different earrings in. How nice to know that it's not the hangover that makes me do dumb stuff!

A great thing about being sober is...

            1. Sleeping through the night.

            2. Not feeling like dying the next morning.

            3. Not feeling like my whole world is crumbling because of the emotional crash that comes with a hangover.

            4. Being able to eat a decent meal instead of trying not to throw up.

            5. Not telling my family the same story 6 times because I was too drunk to remember doing it the first 5 times.

            6. Knowing that my fat @ss is now taking in about 7000 less calories a week in beer.

            7. Being alert and functional at work.

            8. Remembering what I watched on TV the night before.

            9. Not having to go to the store immediately after work, since I would be incapable of driving an hour later.

            10. Not waking up to find out I posted a rambling, expletive-filled tirade on Facebook for everyone to read.

I could easily list 10 more...
When push comes to shove, you taste what you're made of.
You might bend till you break, 'cuz it's all you can take.
On your knees, you look up, decide you've had enough.

You get mad, you get strong, wipe your hands, shake it off...

            Then You Stand.

Bean I know exactly what you mean! I did all those things and more. Tonight I am sober, in bed early and so grateful!

A great thing about being sober is...

                ...feeling confident and in control.

                ...feeling hopeful and happy again.

...really enjoying life's daily pleasures...like orange dahlias, fuzzy puppies and the sweet, clean smell after a rain shower.

A great thing about being sober is...

Steps, really, honestly, steps. I don't mean the kind you take when getting sober. I mean the ones you take to get from one floor to the next floor. When I was drinking, there was a set of steps I often had to use where I work. It's a partially open set of steps and it goes fairly high. I've never liked steps like this, but they never actually scared me. The more I drank, the more insecure I felt on them. It was getting to the point that when I did go up them, I clutched the hand rail, and my heart beat wildly hoping I'd make it to the top. I could have taken the elevator, but I didn't want to give in to this irrational fear.

Yesterday I almost bounded up them. My fears and insecurities were just about gone.
