Hello Troopers!!
Thought it about time I sat down and caught up with MWO in general and the Army in particular.
JC - congrats on the weight loss and on the interview. I'm sure the second part will go equally well.
Sorry about the financial problems. I can't understand how they think your living expenses would be so drastically lowered just because your son moved out. I mean things like mortgages and car loans and things don't change at all and kids are definitely going to be coming by for a weekend or a few days to visit. Are they supposed to bring their own food with them and not shower or anything while they're visiting? It's just ridiculous. Glad to hear that son and heir will be visiting tho'. I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever time you'll have with him.
Inchy - huge congrats on getting such good marks. You must be really proud of yourself.
And I think I saw somewhere that you'd lost some weight as well. Good for you.
Startypants - waiting to hear how your interview went. Hope you get the job you want.
Tipster - it was indeed a lovely start to today's thread. Good news on such quick action by the school authorities. Bullies should be punished. Period.
Too bad about your tooth. If the pin broke, it may be a sign that your bite hasn't been adjusted properly and you're biting down crookedly thus putting more pressure on the crown than it can take.
KTAB - hope things pick up for you financially. Things here at the pits. Don't know where it's all going to go. Down the toilet probably. (I used the expression on purpose knowing that Reccie is most likely :sofa: somewhere.)
:wavin: to everyone else. Sounds like you're all well and enjoying your day so far.
We've been running around trying to get all this mess with the traffic ticket and the driver's license straightened out. It seems that Mr. Stirly's license was not only in tatters but that it should have been renewed almost two years ago. And that means going to two doctors for various tests, certain payments to be made at the bank and one at the tax department. We convinced the policeman who gave him the ticket to give us the old license to take to the DMV ourselves instead of waiting for them to send it, which would have taken 8 days or more. So by running around for two days, we've saved some time in getting the license renewed and it sounds like when it's ready, he'll give it to Mr. Stirly instead of making him wait the whole 2 months. Still, it is costing us 200 euro to get the license renewed plus 400 for the fines. You get a 50% reduction if you pay withing 10 days so it wasn't 800 euro after all. Still, it was an expense we weren't counting on. Anyway, Mr. Stirly has been very remorseful about running the red light and basically messing up our holidays with all this running aroud we've had to do, but he is defo not a good passenger and I was about to open his door and push him out on a couple of occasions. I hate, hate, hate when people tell me how to drive. I've had my driver's license for 42 years. I know to put on my turn signal when I change lanes and don't tell me to downshift when I've already done it. And I will not run a yellow light just because you always do.:stomper:
