      Hi and bye LIS

Deboned roast chicken with chips for us tonight. Maybe some butternut. Alternatively a salad. Sheesh... all these decisions.

Ooooohhhhhh... and strawberries for afters. First of the season. Probably not going to taste all that great, but Mrs. T couldn't resist when she saw it in the shops. With cream or ice cream? Or both?

Does this mean I have to wear blue tomorrow?

I wonder if Betty got her oven delivered.

                Hello Troopers!!!

Mrs. A - so sorry to hear about your friend. All I can say is that I hope the doctors can keep him comfortable for whatever time he has left.

Molly - can't you leave them to fend for themselves in the kitchen? And the clean up afterwards? Hmmm....probably easier said than done now that I think of it. Younger son used to make pancakes once in a while and it took me an hour to clean the kitchen afterwards...

Tipster - good news on the animals all being healthy. Can't say much about the prices since I don't know if it was just a check up or if there were vaccinations or anything involved. Your dinner sounds super delish.

LIS dear, if you wash the cat collars, you'll wash out the flea spray and then they won't work...

Mario - enjoy yourself. Seems you're out and about a lot lately. Suited and booted tonight as well??:H

:wavin: Panda-man. Good to hear that you're feeling fine.

JC - wot oven are you talking about? And tell BB that we want pictures. The last ones I saw of her new kitchen were smashing. And BTW, the pedicure included a foot massage which almost put me to sleep. As for the manicure part, there's a wee rant on it's way....:stomper:

                    :H:H

Not really. I just hate it when you ask how much something costs and they don't give you an exact answer and when you get the services done, it cost 50% more than you counted on.

I was going to go into great detail and now I decided I won't tire you with a long tirade. The bottom line is that when I asked the manicurist about prices, she didn't explain it to me properly. She knows what she's talking about, I didn't. If a customer had come into our store and asked about polishing creams for his car, for example, he would have gotten a complete explanation about what each cream does and would have had a recommendation as to which cream is suitable for his car and a price comparison as well. Anyway, when I went by to make an appointment for "gel nails" and a pedicure, the price she quoted me was 60 euro - 40 for the nails and 20 for the pedicure. When the time came to pay, the price was 70 for the nails and 20 for the pedicure - total of 90 euro. I told her twice that she had quoted me 60 euro but her answer was the same - 40 euro is for the "natural strengthening" with the gel and the price for the "lengthening procedure" with the gel is 70 euro. Funny that the 70 euro had never come up in conversation when I went to make the appointment. She only just told me the lower price and didn't explain or mention the price for the lengthening procedure.
And what really gets me is that I'm not really impressed by the "gel nails". I have used the cheap glue-on nails that you get for 5 euro a package and had almost the same result. The pedicure isn't much better than what I usually do myself so basically I could have got the cheap glue-ons and a new nail polish for 10 euro and saved 80 euro and almost 4 hours of my time....

I have to admit that I don't usually pay much attention to my nails - short and clean is fine with me as well. But we've got a wedding tomorrow and I thought I would give myself a wee birthday treat.

Then you got a good price. Freddies vacs are about 38 euro plus 7 for his worm pill. Anything else like a blood test is extra. Of course I don't know about the cost of living there so it really isn't fair to compare. Good that you are taking such good care of your furry friends. :happyheart:

That is good news. Best of luck with the ops. I know you'll keep us updated.

Am off to walk Freddo and then to bed.
